REALLY GOOD NEWS!!!!!
Just found out we are getting $12,000 from a settlement! YAY! We really got $18000 but the lawyer has to get paid.
FH was in a bad car accident on mother's day last year. Some lady completely ran a stop sign and smashed into him. He didn't know what happened bc he never saw her. The car was totaled! And we lost a lot of money between the car and the rental car (apparantly her insurance wasn't good enough to cover a rental and geico dropped him bc of the accident). He had just gone over a speed bump too so he couldn't have been speeding either. He was giving his friend a ride home from a bar because he was really really drunk (it was the middle of the day.. broad daylight too)... he was upset over his mom passing a few years earlier and got too wasted.... (he is really an alcoholic though... in all seriousness and all joking aside... he is)... and Fh was trying to do a good thing.. but then he got hit and both people were trying to sue him.. his friend too. turns out the lady couldn't sue him because she was found completely at fault (as of now anyway). The friend had a stress fracture in his neck (for the record he is ok now - TOTALLY healed!). FH ended up with 3 bulging disks in his neck... and 2 herniated disk in his back. He also had back surgery the year before that due to herniated disks up against his nerve in his back..... so they had to put some sort of padding there. So really we've been through a lot with just his back and injuries! It's nice to get something helpful out of such a crappy situation! Of course I'd rather he had NO pain for it... but it sure does help our wedding funds right now!![]()
I'm evil... but he's happy about the money too! ha ha ha! A good part of me feels bad for being happy about it (can you tell) but then the other part says 'Kerri, quit being such a jack a$$'!
