Totally random, but I think this is a great thread and I want to keep it going, so more scary stories!

This I didn’t personally experience…but for a year, I lived in a haunted dorm. I went to Fordham and they filmed bits of the Exorcist around there and our building was really old and by the cemetary so it was just begging to be haunted, lol.

Once, my roomie called me in hysterics because she was in the room by herself studying for a test. I had left my laptop open because I was downloading something and she swore that all of a sudden the keys started being pressed on my laptop! She was frozen for a while, but finally slammed down the lid of the laptop and ran out of the room.

We had a lot of funky stuff go on in that building… there was one bedroom where no one stayed because a priest apparently killed himself in that room and wasn’t very keen on sharing it. He would rearrange the furniture so everything would be up against the left wall.

My best friend went to Fordham and told me about all those ghost stories over there. I went to St. John's and they used to say that the library was haunted.

I went to SJU too and I always thought the library and the halls were haunted. My sis goes to Queens coll and she said her professor told them of a boy that committed suicide in one of the labs there, but the prof did not tell them which science lab , YIKES!!!!

Do you guys beleive in gins? Black gins are evil and white gins are good. I feel I always see gins, some black some white. I was doing my homework in my room years back. (06 when my grandmother died) and I saw someone walk into the room directly in front of me, I said hey Maria,thinking it was my sis, I was like what are you looking for, I was having a conversation but realized there was no one there, I was crapping my pants. Its funny bec last night my dead grandmother was in my dream

There was some story about the library, but I don't remember it now....

A few years ago, we went on vacation to the Philippines and was at my dad's house in the city. It was just my cousin and I at the house waiting for everyone else, and I needed to go to the bathroom.

Their bathroom is at the end of a short hallway, and when I turned to go to the bathroom I saw a man standing there--just standing very tall and upright looking at me down the hallway. I looked away and looked again and there was nothing. When my parents got back, I told my mom who told me not to worry. I hear her talking to my dad and the rest of the family later on that I saw a man by the bathroom, and my grandfather and father said that that was impossible because they had the house blessed numerous times already and that no one should be seeing anything anymore!

After talking to my dad, I found out that their house has been haunted for a long time now. It is one of the original inhabitants of the house and that they've brought a priest in several times because there used to be a lot of activity and that I was the first one to see him again after a long, long time.

I didn't go to the bathroom there...I waited till we got back to the hotel.

this stuff is a little different but also interesting - i can wake myself up while i am sleeping - and i can talk to myself in my dreams.....like if im having a bad dream i can tell the 'me' in my dream to wake up, and the 'me' in my dream will close their eyes and count and then when the 'me' in my dream opens her eyes - its really me opening my eyes and i'm awake.....i dont know if that makes any sense to you guys.....

i also have had the experience when you wake up and it feels like someone is on top of you and holding you down and your body feels paralyzed and you cant move or make noise.....

Sounds like lucid dreams to me. I’ve tried to have those for AGES. FH has them occasionally and he has a grand old time once he realizes he’s lucidly dreaming…he’s able to basically make up whatever dream he wants.

There was some story about the library, but I don't remember it now....

Oh, and I found this info about sleep paralysis that could be what you experience when I was Wikipediaing succubus...what can I say, it's a slow day! lol

More random lucid dream stuff..

One of my favorite tips on how to sense if you’re having a lucid dream is to try and turn on or off a light switch in your dream. The level of lighting will probably not change and this will jar you into realizing you’re actually dreaming. *I’ve* never done it, but I’m been waiting forever to!

So weird.... i can do that too.... If I am having a bad dream.... all i have to do is walk through a door and i can wake myself up....
I know i can do this too... so once i had this dream that people broke into my house and the locked us up in the bathroom and it had a stall shower.... i was so terrified and i heard them coming back and i just got up and walked through the shower door and i woke up....

OMG so i just read this thing on Lucid Dreaming - yeahhhh okay, i have a lucid dream like every night and didn't even know it!!!!!! I thought I was just weird....

Its funny b/c yesterday morning I had one, and I was telling FH - I was telling him that I had this dream about my friend Justine, and in the dream she left me a voice mail wishing me Happy Birthday but it was warm and we were outside in my dream so at that moment the 'me' in my dream realized I was dreaming b/c I know my bday is in February when its cold out NOT when we are outside in tank tops......I just read this about Lucid Dreaming: 'Lucidity usually begins in the midst of a dream when the dreamer realizes that the experience is not occurring in physical reality, but is a dream. Often this realization is triggered by the dreamer noticing some impossible or unlikely occurrence in the dream' which would be when I realized that FEB is my bday and it has to be cold - and that was not the case in my dream - which made me realize that I actually dreaming.....WOW SO WEIRD!!!!!!

I def want to try that light switch thing out!!

Thats cool, i cant control it yet, like i dont realize whennthings dont make sense. I just know when there is something in my dream that i dont like, or something scary, i know i can walk through a door and leave...

I wish I could do even that! My mom can wake herself up out of bad dreams, but I always stay in my dreams like the big goof that I am, lol.

Also, true story....
When i was 5 my dads mother passed away. I called her my Nanny. I remember my parents telling me that Nanny was sick and she went to heaven.... so the next morning, my mom said i went up to her and told her that she shouldnt lie to me.... and mom said what are you talking about.... and i said to her that you told me nanny went to heaven, but she sat next to my bed all night......

Did i forget to mention my brother and i used to share a room when i was little and I used to sleep in the top bunk.....crazy.....

i cant control that much of it.....i can wake myself up and i can totally realize that i am in a dream - but i dont think that i can control the entire dream or the outcome of it.....all this time I just thought that I was weird I think I have about one of these dreams a night - and I have other dreams too but regular ones where I don't really know that I am dreaming - its just regular i guess....FH told me he doesnt even dream at all....he said only once in awhile he dreams...i told him maybe he just doesnt remember them

I know its sooo gloomy out, but its hot and humid. Thurs and Fri is when the cool crisp Oct weather comes in. BOOOOOOOO, lol. Over the weekend, I think on Fri there was soooo much fog, We were driving through this park and it looked sooooo creepy bec the fog was rising on the parks ground, oohhhh I love that!! I love scary the crap out of myself. Im glad this thread generated soooo many pages. Im also glad Im not the only one that loves these things, hehe
