reassure me girls ...

Original post by KarinAmanda

we have found a coop that we LOVE - its close to work, its a great price and deep down, i know we can afford it

im scared to commit to something like this... anyone else feel the same way? We both are full time employed with great jobs - im just afraid of having to scrape the barrel to make ends meet with saving for the wedding and paying a mortgage...

how many of you ladies are doing it?

i have found the coop of my dreams - i just hope we can make it work - we're going to look at it again tonight!

here are a few pics

I have a co-op now. I got it 10 years ago. It has more than tripled in value since I first got it.

I think real estate is an excellent investment. Theoretically, though, something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. And if noone wants to buy your coop (like another poster said), then you might not even get what you paid for it! It's too difficult to predict what will happen to the real estate market in the future.

You are absolutely right. And co-ops and condos are harder than other real estate might be. They are usually just a little more affordable for a couple just staring out. If the Waterfront picture is correct for the location that would be a big draw. My place in on the water in Nassau county and that still seems to be a draw...thank goodness!!! Still need to check out the place on various issues first like maintenance increases and assessments.
