Denise what do you think about the St. Regis

it is GORGEOUS and does have the royal type feeling to it. Milana's wedding was AMAZING!!!! plus she is seriously such a big sweetheart, fm her for any help and she will do so without any problems and go above and beyond with info. Milana was always very helpful and detailed when i asked her anything and always so sweet about it. She was also the same with everybody, and always was on the boards helping others, and even as an 07'er she always came on the 08 boards and was always helpful to us

some options:

Battery Gardens
24 Fifth
Loft Eleven/westside loft
Yale Club
Puck Building
Boathouse @ Central Park
Riverside Church

o0ooooo im going to take a look at all of em a little later but I lovee the Loft Eleven-- hmm idk if its worth it doing it all ourselves-- but thankss for the locs-

it is alot of extra work but if you are up to it go for it. Some places though go through a catering business that will provide everything along with chairs, tables, linens, silverware and so on, others you would have to go get all those yourself. Loft eleven is GORGEOUS too. If you dont mind the work then you can do such amazing things with an empty space. I sometimes wish i had a big empty space to do whatever with it.

I looked at Loft Eleven, really nice space, but you def. do start from scratch, but most of the places in the city that aren't hotels are like that. Also, if you check out Loft Eleven, they have another space in the same building called the Westside Loft that holds more people. So ask to see them both when you are there (if you go). They also have another space in another building further west (if you google loft eleven you'll see them all). Keep in mind that with most NYC raw spaces (Loft Eleven, Puck Building, Capitale, Angel Orensanz, NYC Public Library, etc) you will charged a rental fee just to use the space, usually around $10 grand (little more little less depending on the place and time of year). And that's before bringing in the caterer, tables, chairs, lighting, decor, etc. I would have loved to have had mine in the city, I went and researched alot of these places but it ended up being waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of my budget.

Yes but if you go to that site and the vendors there you will find NYC reception halls. On that site the vendors are all NYC vendors...not LIW vendors likeon here

Not so sure?? I have never posted on liweddings.com only on NYCityweddings.com (where I registered) and not once has anyone except for LI vendors contacted me with emails, calls and mail. I am still waiting for that NYC related call (not!!!).

no need to be nasty--this thread was just asking women to talk and suggest RHs in NYC-- thats it--

How was I being nasty? I was just trying to figure it all out, as I would love to get NYC directed information and was just trying to find it??? Sorry if I offended, my intentions were so not negative AT ALL.

Thats because they dont know where you are getting married so all vendors will contact you. And some vendors are the same b/c they do weddings in the city and will travel and some only do city and vice versa

Here is the link

I think you are right, thank you so much for the link and info.

Here are pics from the Metropolitan Club in case you - or anyone else - wanted to see to get some ideas.

When you walk in there is a beautiful marble hall where you can have pre-cocktails and champagne being passed. (that's the first & second pic below). There are beautiful stairs on which photos can be taken and from which the bride and groom can make a grand entrance. Beyond the marble room is an amazing room in which you can have your cocktail hour (third photo). The upstairs is the ballroom to die for, gilded to the max, something Louis XVI himself would have loved (fourth photo). With the right lighting on your flowers that room is insane.

The singular most spectacular wedding I ever attended was there.

I think a posted a week or so ago with some suggestions. If you haven't, you should start setting up appointments as searching on the internet is not the best way to go. What we did is we got into the car and looked at every single RH that we saw online. Some of them looked very different in person or couldn't accomodate our needs.

Anyway, I think the Grand Prospect Hall fits what you're looking for. It may not be NYC but it's beautiful and has the stairs you were looking for.

WOW!!! The Metropolitan looks gorgeous!!!

Ladies, please keep in mind that this thread was started because a bride needs information...

How many people are you planning on inviting. Space will play a huge part in where and how much.

I talked to the people at The Upper Crust (www.tucnyc.com/) and they have a space, but also do planning at other locations. They can plan a one of a kind event that is personalized down to every detail that you want and are really worth talking to.

The only reason we didn't go with them is because their space was too small for us.

Yes we did notice that, but when you give someone a piece of info and answer the actual thread and other people comment on how it isnt true...what do you think happens? Yes that is right-Im going to make sure the OP knows that it is an option for her-regardless of what anyone else thinks. Also letting those brides know the difference
