Reception Hall Hunt Begins! Help!!!

Original post by karenml

I just got engaged in Dec. 07' and we are just beginning our reception hall search. We are not set on a date. Thinking anytime from May-September. Leaning towards September. Wondering if anyone had reviews/prices for the following places:

1. Chateau La Mer
2. Lombardi's on the Sound
3. Milleridge Cottage
4. North Ritz Club
5. Crescent Beach Club
6. Venetian Yacht Club
7. Bridgeview Yacht Club
8. Westbury Manor
9. Douglaston Manor
10. Harbor Club

* I would prefer one wedding at a time, higher ceilings (tall family!), near water, bar INSIDE reception hall (big one - I been to too many weddings where everyone is gone at the bar the whole time - including myself ).

Thanks for your help!

Re: Reception Hall Hunt Begins! Help!!!

I had my wedding at the NRC. I'll preface this by saying I'm a chronic complainer. I enjoy complaining. I have to say I did not have one single problem with the NRC. Everything was PERFECT. The maitre 'd was fantastic. He was on his game like no other. Everyone has said that they loved the wedding (like who is not going to say that to a bride anyway?) but we have had 3 couples who went to our wedding look there for their own wedding. So that should be a good attestation as to how much the guests liked it.

My sister had her reception at Chateau La Mer and it was amazing and it sounds like the wedding reception you described. The food and service were out of this world- we were all so impressed- we felt like family. The room was gorgeous and had beautiful views of the sound- she and her husband came into the CH on a boat!It was just a great place! Definitely gets my vote!!!! Good luck with your search and enjoy this time!! It all goes so fast!!!
