Registering....what do you put on your list, when you have everything?

FI and I have been living with each other for 3 years. We have just about everything we need. I am not interested in china or crystal. Other than the waffle maker I've been eyeing, there's not much else I can put on a registry without looking greedy since everyone knows I have everything. What to do?
PS - I had a housewarming party 3 years ago and everyone and that's where I racked up on everything.

Linens is what I did. We can get rid of the old his, mine, ours & have nice, new, fresh sheets & towels. Although, so far people purchased all the OTHER stuff I put on the registry!!!! LOL!!

Re: Registering....what do you put on your list, when you have everything?

linens/ holiday stuff sounds like a great idea.

There are also unconventional registries such as electronics stories, outdoor sports/camping supplies. You can also register for a honeymoon. Or just stuff you'll need. Filters for your air cleaner, bags for your vacuum, bath sets. You cna be origina. and if they don't like anyting on the list, they'll just give you cash.

Re: Registering....what do you put on your list, when you have everything?

some travel agents allow your guests to make contributions towards your honeymoon....I know Liberty TRavel does....I think this is a great idea for people who have everything. Instead of saying you are registered at Fortunoffs you can say you are registered at Liberyt Travel.

Re: Registering....what do you put on your list, when you have everything?

We thought we were in the same boat, but spent hours registering yesterday. Even though we realize that we don't need china and silverware right now, one day we'll use it. Think Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas, etc. We debated as to whether we wanted to register for it, but the reality is that in a few years when we will need it - we're not going to want to blow $2000 on a full china set. It will seem unimportant. So we're registering for it now. But I agree with everyone else, get new stuff.

Re: Registering....what do you put on your list, when you have everything?

We are in the same boat so we are not registering for much.. And I dont want any fancy dinnerware b/c we have no where to put it and would hardly ever use it. We are going to register for nice stuff we wouldnt really spend the extra $$ on ourselves.. a cappuchino maker, really nice bedding set, nice set of new glasses, maybe some nice lenox or mikasa frames for our wedding pictures, stuff like that. - think about upgrading. When we move in we got a cheapy toaster as a gift.. after only a year it already looks so beat up... A nice new one with the rotiserie (sp?) thing would be nice!

Re: Registering....what do you put on your list, when you have everything?

I hate sharing this, because I know a lot of brides are paying a lot of money for their honeymoons, but my dad is giving me two weeks of his timeshare so I just have to figure out where I want to go. I was thinking about bedsheets, but I didnt want to put anything fancy down. A friend of mine is getting married soon and I was flabberghasted (sp) that she put DKNY sheets on her registry. IMO that's just over the top.

Re: Registering....what do you put on your list, when you have everything?

I would register for things that you wouldnt buy yourself but love. An example, If there is a Lenox or Waterford set that you wont buy yourself - register for it.

Linens, holiday china, luggage, electronics.

You don't really *have* to register.

Re: Registering....what do you put on your list, when you have everything?

What about a theme- for cookbooks and gagets, outside- like furniture or bbq, sexy nightys, bathroom & shower gels, wine? You can also register at Home Depot for tools and stuff- if you plan on renovating.

Re: Registering....what do you put on your list, when you have everything?

Me and my FI bought a house together 3 years ago also. We are going to register for a new comforter set and new bathroom sets. We never got good dishes so we'll do that too. You can always use new tupperwear, pots and utensils. Take a walk around the store...i'm sure you'll see alot.
