Registries... too early?

Registries... too early?

How many girls already have registries? I'm afraid it's too early and everything I want will be old and not in stock by the time I get married but my mom says I should register. She wants to buy all of my china, like she did for my sister, and she bought it piece by piece with 20% off coupons from BB&B.

Please tell me if you've registered yet, and if not when you're planning on registering. Thanks!

We plan to register in January about a year ahead of time. FSIL registered 9 months before her wedding.

we did one last week, but we are having an e-party soon and our families have been asking where we are registered (well, actually, his family is asking) but we went to be able to tell them somewhere

We registerd a few months ago for 2 reasons....1, we did not have an engagement party and people wanted to buy us stuff, and 2, we moved in together so we needed lots of stuff.

We did not do good china or a full out one, but we did most of the kitchen stuff and bedroom stuff, like the sheets and comforter.

i did not yet, and i was not going to until next year around may, which would be about a year before. I'll still have one more christmas before the wedding for people to shop off of (because i like the idea of people buying off of it for christmas too!)

We're gonna wait until the e-party gets closer which will be a year before the wedding, but we have people asking us what we want already

I registered for my e-party but only for certain things that could be replaced with similar items if they are no longer available by my wedding date. I am waiting to add items that can be bought it parts (like china, or bedding, etc) b/c i didnt want people buying me some of it now and then it ending up be discontinued by the time my shower roles around. if your mom really wants to get you your china now can you just go with her and pick it out and simply not include china when it is time to register?

I'm probably going to wait. but if your mom is bugging you about registering pick out a pattern that you want and tell her so she has plenty of time to get everything!

I did a few registries just for fun but haven't made any of them official yet. I think it's too soon for me. I don't want to have things I've registered for be discontinued before my shower. I'll probably set one up for real about 6-8 months before my wedding.
