May seem like a silly question, but do you do a rehearsal if you are getting married at the reception hall? Do the halls let you use the grounds the day/night before the wedding?
I just called the officiant but had to leave a message. Any thoughts?

Re: Rehearsal - If marrying at the hall!
I would think it would be a good idea and that they should let you have one there. If nothing else just so everyone knows wher they're going to be waiting to start.

we had one that morning before the ceremony. (DH and i saw each other beforehand for pics). took all of about 7 min.
honestly unless you have a huge BP and lots of stuff going on, i never quite understood the point of a rehearsal. its pretty self-explanatory, you walk down the aisle, ceremony happens, and walk back. lol i wouldn't fret too much if yo ucan't schedule a rehearsal beforehand---it was all very easy
ETA: my wedding was at the watermill like yours nserig!

They sometimes let you have a rehersal dinner there, but i think it would be a good idea to have the rehersal some place so it will be new to people and your mind won't be worrying about the food and etc.

Most won't let you schedule one the day before, in case they can schedule an event, but if you yalk to your BM, they will be able to let you know, maybe the night before if nothing is scheduled or that morning.

I was told they usually go over it quickly before the ceremony. We're having a dinner the weekend before the wedding, just to be with everyone, say thanks, and give them their gifts.

Re: Rehearsal - If marrying at the hall!
Since we have a small BP and probably couldn't have a rehearsal at the RH we decided to have a bbq at FIL's house. This way everyone can just relax and have a good time, eat, drink, go swimming and we can give everyone their gifts.

Thats actually a good question and Im going to call my banquet manager and ask him about it. I am getting married at my RH and was wondering the same thing. I agree with Mellissa (MJDOC)..unless you have a huge BP you may not need a rehersal...but if you can squeeze it int hen go for it.

We are having a rehearsal.... but the officiant usually does not attend.
The point of the rehearsal is just where to stand etc.

We are having a quick rehearsal at the hall right before the wedding it takes like 10 minutes. We are having an informal BBQ for our BP this weekend to give them their gifts and go over what they need to do the day of! Can't wait! We love our BP!

That's exactly what we did too. We saw each other before for pics, so they had us do a brief rehearsal like a half and hour or so before the ceremony.

We had a 'rehearsal' dinner the night before even though there was no rehearsal. It was nice for everyone to get together, plus we gave out everyone's gifts.
