Requesting WAY TOO MUCH INFO (enter at your own risk)

Requesting WAY TOO MUCH INFO (enter at your own risk)

I am suddenly fascinated by this topic BECAUSE... a colleague of mine (in her 30s) just confessed to me that she cannot figure out how to use tampons. I honestly and sincerely believed that every woman over the age of 18 used them. It never occurred to me that people might not know HOW.

So... do you? Use them? If not... is it because they are uncomfortable or because you can't figure out how they work or is it because of health concerns? I am really pretty curious. And I am sick and unable to do much of anything so I have a lot of weird thoughts on my mind these days.

I wanted to vote..but there is a not a choice of 'both'...I actually use a tampon for the first few day sof my period because its so heavy and a pad for the last two. They are NOT uncomfortable..in fact it really does feel like wearing nothing at all...I just wish they didnt carry such a risk of 'toxic shock snydrome' you just have to be very clean when using them...ex: washing your hands before and after inserting..and not wearing them for longs periods of time. HTH

I only use tampons-rarely a pad. Don't feel bad-one of my friends from HS doesn't use either-she is trying to help the environment by being gross.

There's this instead cup thing some people use. Maybe she uses one of those.

I;ve used tampons since day one.... I think the only time I;ve ever used a pad was when I had to borrow one in HS.

I used to only used tampons...

But now that I have gotten sick... this is TMI... but I have to use both b/c I bleed so much thru a tampon it will leak after like 20 mins on the first two days of my period. So now I get to wear a diaper in addtion to my tampon b/c I bleed so much. Great isn't it!

heheheh Oooops. I hope nobody was eating while reading this.

Sorry!

I use a panty liner for my whole period.. it's nothing more than spotting for 3-4 days.. I LOVE YASMIN!!!!

Tampons all the way!!! I used to use only pads, then discovered tampons and haven't looked back since! But at night when I sleep I wear pads instead and also if it's very heavy bleeding I'll use both.

I only use tampons. My mom finally allowed me to buy them when I was 14 and that's all I have gotten since. I have known a few girls that refused to wear tampons because they thought they would lose their virginity this way.

I'm a both girl too... some days its just too light, i dont feel comfortable wearing a tampon - but i can only wear like ultra-thin pads, otherwise i feel like i'm sitting on a phone book!

definitely tampons! used pads for the first month in like 8th grade, then tampons ever since!

I'm not a big tampon fan. The pads can be a pain sometimes, but I just don't like tampons.

I use a tampon the first day and then the next two days its a pantiliner thanks to the wonderful thing called Birth Control Pills

I use both also. Just in case. I am always nervous that I will not be able to go to the bathroom for whatever reason (example: being in a meeting at work, stuck in traffic). And then towards the end, I only use a pad.
