Ring Resizing Help
My engagment ring I pretty big on me, big enough that I can slide it on and off my finger, knuckle and all with no resistance. I am so nervous it is going to fall off. I recently purchased a bridge to put in the bottom of it and it helps, but I want the ring to fit without the bridge, it is so beautiful I hate having a medal clip on the back of it. Are there any great, trustworthy jewlers that anyone can refer me to for resizing? I am so nervous to get it done!

My fiancé got my ring at Diamond Jewelers in Centereach. They have been very nice each time I go in to get my ring cleaned, maybe try them?

Ring Resizing Help
My fiancé bought my ring at zales. when I went to get it resized they said they had to ship it away & it would take 2 weeks. I wasn't trusting anyone with my ring for 2 weeks so I asked around & a lot of people recommended gennaro jewelers in bellmore. they were amazing & the ring never left my sight. I definitely recommend them

It shouldn't take two weeks! My ring was a little snug then I went up a .25 size and then it was too big so I got two little balls welded into it. I wish I had recommendations for you for Suffolk but I am in Nassau.

Re: Ring Resizing Help
I had the same issue. Remember, in the summer your fingers will expand so you don't want it sized too small. My ring is a size 4 and it was sliding off my finger easily too.. I brought it to the jeweler fh got it from and they suggested putting these solid gold balls into it to make it fit better instead of breaking the ring to resize. Especially if my fingers expand because they're easily taken out by the jeweler. It took a while to get used to taking it on and off with them in there, but now I love it and it fits like a 3.5. Ring guards tend to be ugly and this you don't see. Our jeweler is Sammy's at the Commack Jewelry Exchange.Excuse the poor lighting and my filthy ring lol

Re: Ring Resizing Help
Thank you so much everyone, rcotter90 I think that may be the route that I go! I am very nervous to get it sized smaller because of that exact reason, my fingers swell in the summer and when I have kids I don't want to be resizing it constantly!

it was close to $100. went from a size 7 to size 5. I did it during the summer so it's a little loose now but I'm leaving it this way just in case.

If you ever go into the city, there's a jewlery by rockefeller center who resizes on the spot and is very cheap. I can send you his information. I got mine resized and it took about an hour.

I just had this done at H.L. Gross in Garden City. I'm in Suffolk also...It was worth the trip. They did it while I waited.

I had my ring resized and I paid $120. I would advise you to call the jeweler and ask how much those their insurance cover to leave your ring with them. I found a lot of jewelers only insure up to $10,000 and it was difficult for me to find a jeweler. I also recommend if you have a diamond report or a AGI certificate asked the jeweler to read your diamond number before leaving. When receiving back your ring ask him to reread the numbers again.

Re: Ring Resizing Help
That gives me anxiety!! I have decided that I am going to stick with my bridge that I put in the ring until it gets warmer out and I know for sure how loose it really is.

Lomonicas in Bohemia - love them!!! they custom made my ring and i had it sized twice there. I was hesitant, i'm not sure why, but they understood and first put the balls on the inside and said see if that does it. A few weeks later i was still thinking it was too big so they actually re sized it. I appreciated the fact that they didnt make me feel crazy for being nervous lol plus they did an amazing job with my ring so i highly recommend!! family-owned place ;)

I put the ring snuggy on - lol im losing weight for the wedding and with summer coming I do not want to do anything permanent yet. I will say though if you are in Nassau Gennarro in bellmore is amazing! the ring never leaves your sight. They even hold it up in the air and tell you to follow them if they have to move it to the other side of the store. I had my appraisal done there and the ring never left my sight for a moment.
