FH and I are in the process of booking our honeymoon (yay!) and while planning I got to thinking -- should I bring my engagement ring and wedding band on the trip??
We're going to Bali and while part of me can't imagine going on my HM without my rings, the other part of me thinks I would be crazy to bring them and risk losing them! A good friend of mine bought a cheap plain silver band that she wears when she travels and I thought I might do something like that.
What are you gals doing? Are you bringing your wedding rings on your HM?

Re: Rings on HM?
Wow, I am SO glad I read this cause I never even thought of it.... we are going to be doing Italy and Greece, maybe it's better if I get a fake set to be on the safe side. Although, it is going to make me SO sad to not have my ring on.... I literally never take her off.

I am definitely not bringing my rings...I'll buy a fake set thats still pretty but I would just die if I lost them especially in Aruba where I would never find them again! Omgosh it makes me sick even thinking of losing them! ahh
This!! Espcially since mine will be blessed byt he priest... I know they're replaceable but I want to have my original rings forever. It doesn't seem necessary to me to bring them on vacation.

Re: Rings on HM?
Overstock has some beautiful CZ/Sterling bridal sets for super cheap.
I bought a fake set from Macy's for $10 and I am leaving the real ones at home. I do not want to risk losing them or having them stolen.

I plan on being adventurous during the HM, hiking, snorkeling etc so bringing a fake set. If I was just hanging out on the beach though, I'd probably just wear it.

wellll i think if i didnt bring mine i would be worried about it the whole honeymoon and thinking about if it is safe lol.. so i always have mine on..except when i sleep and shower..and it always goes back in the same place..i am very aware of it and have been engaged over a year and still i always make sure its there..lol it fits great and isnt lose at all.. besides thats why i got insurance on it!! and FH bought it for me to wear it!!! so it will be going on the honeymoon with me!!

Re: Rings on HM?
I bought a CZ when I went on a roadtip in May with my girlfriend.
it turned my finger like 5 shades of green. it was disgusting.
I ended up throwing the whole thing out on day 3 of our trip, but i felt so guilty not wearing anything for the rest of the 2 weeks.

Re: Rings on HM?
I think this is really silly. Honestly.
Why in the world would you not wear your rings that you've been waiting forever to wear on your HM?!!?
You're going on a HM, that's your first trip as husband and wife, how can you even think of not wearing your real rings??
I totally understand owning a fake set if you work in a rough neighborhood or take public transportation late at night, or something to that effect, but it makes no sense to me why you would not wear your rings on your HM.
JMO...
ETA: my ring is ensured, and we'll most likely ensure my eternity band as well. I think EVERYONE should do this. Yes, it's an additional expense, but such a small price to pay to secure something that is so precious!

Re: Rings on HM?
I will be wearing the rings and FH will wear his - I can't wait!!! When we go out to the beach, do excursions, etc., I will leave them in the safe in the hotel, and then wear them all other times.

My rings are insured too, but the sentimental value cannot be replaced. It's a big risk taking them on and off, leaving them in a room even if there's a safe, having them on at the beach, on excursions... just not worth it to me to take a chance for 10 days with something I want to keep the rest of my life. They aren't disposable to me, once they gone IC an't get them back and I don't want something new, I want the ring FH gave to me the day he asked me to be his wife, and I want the ring that was put on my finger when FH promised to love me forever while the priest and my parents and all my friends and family watched. And I don't think it's fair to say it's silly. You don't feel the same, and that's fine, but no one's saying anything about your opinion in an exasperated or irritated or annoyed tone.
