RK Bridal- No Frills Program...who is doing this??

So, I decided to order my dresses from RK Bridal rather than Alexandra's Boutique.

Anyways, the girl I spoke with mentioned filling out the form and faxing it over to them. I forgot to ask and they are closed now...but, what exactly is the process? Do the girls have to pay for their dresses in full at that time?

I know my MOH ordered her alfred Angelo gown there. I know she was talking about that program, but I can't remember if she ended up doing it or not. I do think they measure you and all that stuff...

they do NOT measure you! that is the whole point. if you go there they will give u the size chart and a measuring tape (all which you can do at home). if you want them to measure you then you must pay the full amount.

fyi- my girls got measured in local botique shops and just asked (when they went to try on the dresses) bc they live all over. We did not wind up ordering with RK though.

Really!!! ughhh....That's with the no frills program, right? If I option with a non-frills program...full service program, they will measure?

yeah I heard you measure yourself... make sure your girls are all getting the SAME dresses bc if they aren't the deal isn't good.... I ALSO heard it was VERY crowded in there (on the weekends) and it doesn't matter if you have an appt. apparently.... this is all just hearsay though, I've never been there!

i ordered my BM dresses thru the no frills program. they do not measure you. you have to measure yourself, or have a tailor do it, and then figure out what size you want.

My bridesmaids ordered there dresses through RKs no frills program.. They got sized at a different place, or just sized themselves. Its very simple and much cheaper. Ther dresses were each about $50 cheaper than anywhere else!

Crapola!!! Do they charge to measure you? Everyone's getting the same exact dress, I'm just worried that it'll be a hassle for the girls to get measured elsewhere...

I'm doing this for sure. I know many BMs that have done it in the past and it's totally worth it! It bothers me to ask my girls to spend $80 extra when its not necessary. With the No Frills, each girl has to get their own measurements (any dry cleaner does it for free) and you order all dresses at once. They mail all the dresses to your house or you can have them mailed to each girls house for a small additional charge. Then the girls get their dresses altered wherever they want so they'll save a crap load of money there too. Def worth it!

I completely agree. Once everyone gets their measurements, then they go to RK Bridal to order it?

the no frills program does NOT include measuring! They basically just order it for you and they also don't alter the dress.

three of my bms did no frills because they are out of state and it really was the cheapest price quoted. I measured them with body tape and ordered it according to the size chart. they are supposed to come in next month and the girls will go to a tailor in DC.

my moh is in the city so she opted to get measured and use their alterations. I forget how much more expensive her dress was.

You can fill out the form at the store or you can fill out the form online and email or fax it to them once you get everyones measurements. It all goes on one form

So basically you get the measurements and then RK Bridal just orders the size.
So bridesmaids can just call the store and give their measurements and pay the deposit?

this! It was do easy all my bms measured themselves and just faxed it in. Then the dresses were mailed to them. Def cheaper then the bridal stores

That's exactly what makes me nervous. I just wish they would measure you without doing alternations there...
Do you know how much alternations would cost?

I apologize for giving you false information! I just re-read your post and realized i misunderstood. My MOH inquired about some 'all inlcusive' program, but realized that it didnt make sense for her.

She didnt go for the discounted price on her BM dress. She paid the full amount and said that they're supposed to take care of everything...

I took my girls there they measured themselves and saved $45 for doing it themselves and they r taking them to their local streamstress do get the alterations..we ordered them in Jan and they will be here in may

I was just there a few weeks ago with my bridesmaids. We hadn't looked at dresses yet, but found one that they liked. We went with the full service program-we were in the store so the measuring was easy, and my BMs are in NY so they can pick up the dresses themselves. One thing to note when you're looking at the price difference is RK charges shipping for the No Frills program if the dress is under $300.
