Room Block- So upset UPDATED- AT BOTTOM

So months ago I had expanded my room block at the Fairfield Inn in Syosset to 25 rooms. I figured that would be close enough to what we would need.

The sales manager there isn't super nice, but she added the rooms for me

So I keep getting calls today from people trying to book and the hotel is sold out

So I call to see if my block is full, and they go- yeah, you 15 rooms are full

Whaaaaaaa? 15 rooms?

Liars. They took away my other 10 rooms. And we have a frigging bus booked there and back for the reception

I am LIVID. Actually broke into tears.

After all the hone calls, after verifying the extra rooms, etc....they still lied.

I will NEVER do business with Marriott again

The funny thing is, I have done architectural work for a bunch of Marriott higher ups (including the president's brother) in the DC area....Marriott is based in DC. They will be hearing from me

Watch out girls, this has been nothing but lies and trouble and broken promises

If I had an in with the president's brother you can be sure he'd be hearing for me.

Fingers crossed that he works this out for you, and maybe comps your shuttle or gives you some other perk!!

Wll did they tell you that they won't do a block bigger than 15?

WOW!!!! That is just so wrong! Did you have the 25 room block in writing??? If so deifnately RAISE HELLLL!!!!

My room block is at the LI Marriott in Uniondale and if they did that to me, i would flip!!!!!!

I did not get it in writing

I am an idiot

But I did call and check a few days later and the rooms were there on my block

Now they are not

However, my office listened to the convo when they added the rooms since I put it on speaker phone

wow!!! u NEED to call the main mariott number or email internet customer service they are redic nice and help so much more then the people who work at the actual hotel. I am staying at Residence Inn Mariott and when I called the hotel itself were super rude but then I emailed Marriott and they gave me a discounted price and allowed me to stay until 2pm without paying extra.

im going to check my contract tomorrow i think we only started with a minimum of 10 but i know were going to need atleast 20 all of the groomsmen alone are OOTs thats 6 rooms right there

So two of the other blocks expired today, and she assigned their leftover 10 rooms to my block and extended my booking time until May 29

I ALSO got a block of 10 at the Executive Inn at Woodbury (the lady there is super nice), and they will shuttle my guests that book there to and from the Fairfield so they can catch the drunk bus

Whew! I am still waiting for my second block contract to arrive, but everything seems ok
fingers crossed

sigh- unnecessary stress!!!!!!!
