RSVP VENT

RSVP VENT

Why in the world do we take the time out to put stamps on the envelope, # them, etc.. if people are just going to say all day 'Will you just put me down as a yes, you are being a nut with this RSVP thing'

Sorry, it's just annoying. They think I am going to walk around with a pad and pen all day at work and walk from office to office asking who is going or I am supposed to assume who is.

OK vent over

grrr people are so inconsiderate. They would rsvp for any one else's wedding, so they should for yours.

If the rsvp's are going to your parents, just tell them, you have to send the rsvp to my parents, they have the master list for rsvp's, not me.

it is annoying.
I found that the majority of people who did that were just not sensitive to it b/c they didn't have their own wedding yet.
They discount the importance of the etiquette involved.
Now that my wedding is over, I wonder how these same people would feel if I 'forgot' or just 'disregarded' sending a thank you note for their gift.....and waited until they called me to make sure I actually got it and I said:
'Oh Yea.......will you just put me down as having said thank you? You're being a nut about this thank you card thing.'

Its etiquette and common courtesy. Cut some slack to people who haven't yet had their own wedding....but all others have no excuse.

TOTALLY AGREE!!!

To me, its very rude of them (because I have been asked the same thing by friends).

we have a million things to do, and million things on our mind - we are not going to remember every person who says they will come. It's so easy to put it in the mail.

It also helps us secure a headcount (our halls need an exact amount and per seat is not cheap in NY) - and I am using the cards for seating arrangements.

so, if they want to come, tell them you need the rsvp card - it takes two seconds of their time and it helps you so much with everything on your plate.

I totally agree with you....it's ridiculous that people can't take two minutes to fill out the RSVP and drop it in the mail!

That's so annoying. When they tell you to mark them down as a yes just say, 'I will as soon as I receive your response card.'

Re: RSVP VENT

I honestly don't know why it's hard for people to send back RSVPs. We recently got an invitation to a wedding which we knew about and already knew we were going. So I openend the invite, took out the rsvp card, filled it out, and put it in my bag to mail it the next day. FH was like, 'Why are you sending it back so fast?' My response, 'Why wait????' I honestly think people don't realize that we brides are waiting anxiously for our rsvp cards.

I know!!! It's sooooo ANNOYING!!!
My parents are getting phone calls from their friends and relatives saying 'we are coming, tell Brittny.' W T F is that?? I put a damn stamp on the bloody thing how hard is it to write your name and pop it in a mailbox??? Argh! FH's family is 10X worse than mine.
