Sad news...update

I haven't been on in a while, things have been so crazy. My FMIL has throat & lung cancer. Everything happened so fast within a month. First the docs gave her 2-4mths and now she is in ICU and waiting for a spot in hospice. I stopped all wedding plans but I found out tonight from his sister she wrote her a letter saying the wedding must go on. I just don't have it in me I'm so upset. She is actually a MIL that every bride would love to have. I don't know what to do. We were going to get married at her house so she can see it but now we found out she wont make it home. I just need to vent.

I am so sorry youre going through this and to hear about your FMIL. But she wants you to have your wedding and it would make her happy. I know it must be hard to even think about that right now though. My prayers are with your FMIL, you, and your family

I am so sorry you are going through this. Can you have a simple ceremony where she is now?
We have a lot in common -- we have the same date, and I unfortunately experienced the biggest loss this past summer -- FM me if you need to talk.

If it's important to you guys that she's a part of the wedding then have a small ceremony now and have a big celebration on the original wedding date. You could keep it just to you guys, fmil, bm and moh. If you need to vent fm me!

have you considered home hospice? see if that is an option for her....they might require 24 hr care to be hired first.

So sorry to hear that news. Hopefully there will be a way to incorporrate seeing her into your special day

my heart broke when I hear this. I can only imagine what you both are going through. I am so sorry . My thoughts are with you.

On the other stuff, while you may be sad to still plan, try to think that this will make her happy & at least you have control of one thing that can bring her some joy. We have so little in this world that we directly control, she wants to be sure that they wedding goes on. She truly is a wonderful woman!
