I haven't been on in a while, things have been so crazy. My FMIL has throat & lung cancer. Everything happened so fast within a month. First the docs gave her 2-4mths and now she is in ICU and waiting for a spot in hospice. I stopped all wedding plans but I found out tonight from his sister she wrote her a letter saying the wedding must go on. I just don't have it in me I'm so upset. She is actually a MIL that every bride would love to have. I don't know what to do. We were going to get married at her house so she can see it but now we found out she wont make it home. I just need to vent.
***Hi everyone. Sorry for the sad update but my MIL passed away last week.
Thank you all for your support everyone has been so thoughtful.

Re: Sad news
That seems so unfair.
I am sure you are finding it difficult to have a joyous occaision amidst all of the grief.
You should do what you have to do to make it work for FH and yourself.
best wishes

Re: Sad news
i'm so sorry to hear all this. she sounds like she's a great woman and i completely understand your lack of motivation due to all this.
is there anyway you guys could have a small ceremony at the hospice where she will be? ya know just immediate family, etc. that way she can see you guys get married and then in july have the big party and 'renew' your vows on that day? and god willing she'll be there as well!
you and you're family are in my prayers

Re: Sad news
I am so sorry, this is such a difficult situation and my heart and prayers go out to all of you.
My best friend (my MOH) lost her father last year and she pulled off a wedding in about 24 hours so that she could have her father there. and through half of that day they weren't sure if they were doing it at the house or the hospice. what she did was so special. and I will never forget when her father turned to me and told me that now he can die happy. It meant a lot to him to see her get married. I am so proud of my friend. even though her anniversary was a sad time too. But if you can do it, do it for her. keep your plans for your wedding but do the official marriage now. this way you can look back on your anniversary and know that you made her happy. but keep your other plans so that you have a wedding that makes you both happy

I'm so sorry to hear the sad news, but why don't you and FH have a nice little ceremony in her hospital room? Then re-new your vows on you wedding day? I think it would mean a lot to all of you if you did it that way. Good Luck!
