Same Sex Marriage is Mass.. how do you feel about it?

Original post by Xelindrya

So How do you feel?

Im curious how 'we' here feel about it in general. Seeing as we are all getting married or are married. Admittedly our views are a bit skewed to the 'happily ever after'.

Then again, not everyone can have the same cookie cutter view of this but it's difficult to express that in a post without fear of being battered over it. So I created what I hope is a broad based poll.

If you view, please choose. Even if it's 'other'.

WHY!????!!!!!

DIfferent societies in the parade march under their own signs. There are different clubs adn lodges that march in the parade under thier own signs. In fact, every parade is made up of different sects- for example, the Israeli day parade is coming up and my friend is marching with her school- holding a sign. So under your logic, since she is proud to work at a school- she is separating herself from teh rest of the group and doesn't deserve teh same rights as anyone else??!!!???

Are you saying that ANY cultural parade shows that those people want to be separated from teh rest of society and don't deserve equal rights ??!!?? Well, be sure to tell all teh different churches that march in the St. Patricks day parade that since they march under their own sign, they are not entitled to the same rights as teh rest of the Irish. Come on...

ETA: Why?? Because they are proud to be IRISH and GAY !!! Just like the priest of a church is proud to be IRISH and associated with that CHURCH.

Heres a question, if gays want to be treated equal and the same like everyone else, then why do they have gay bars and gay restaurants?

And parades...

Well, first of all I have never heard of a gay restaurant.

Ever see Real World Miami, they were all over the place, Im sure if we look them up, we can find some in New York

So homosexuality is considered a 'society'?

Please give me the name of a restaurant that straights are nto allowed in. I have eaten in many restuarants in Chelsea and teh village where yes, there were a lot of gay couples, as well as straight couples. So please, just give me the name of 1 that doesn't invite straight people in. THanks.

Straights and gays have no limits as to what restaurant they want to go into. If you know differently I would love to see this info. The point IM trying to make is that if they want to be treated equal then why have separate bars, etc..

What about Irish bars, french bars, middle eastern bars, Latin clubs, African-American clubs? Does this mean that all these people who like to socialize together don't get rights.

My personal opinion, gay bars are safer for gays. They can meet up with other gay people and not have to worry about hitting on the wrong person adn being beaten up or worse, killed.

The difference is yes there are alot of ethnic bars out there and all different kinds of people go into these bars but I find it hard to believe that a bunch of straight people would say 'Hey, lets all go to the gay bar tonight'

I've been to a gay bar with my FH and a bunch of our gay friends. YOU choose not to frequent places like this, and that's your prerogative. But many straight people DO go to gay bars..

you mean in a gay bar? you really don't know...I just know that most of my straight friends have been to a gay bar at least once in their life, some liked it, some didn't. But really, I don't care who is gay or straight when I'm in a gay bar - I'm not looking to hook up so what what does it matter, you know?

and why is it that when the gay bar/restaurant question was posed we weren't off track, but when I respond that Boosh's opinion was misinformed we're off track?

Please don't take personal offense. I was suggesting that the whole exchange (beginning with the first questions about the bars) was off-track of the original topic.
