Sandals vs secrets vs couples

Hey! I know there is a honeymoon board, but it seems like no ever answers on there really so I did here instead cause you ladies are awesome and always answer. FH and I are thinking Jamaica for our honeymoon... Does anyone have any experience with a sandals, couples or secrets resort in Jamaica? What did you think? Do you recommend? Any help would be appreciated! I've been looking at trip advisor and Expedia and everything for reviews, but they have some good and some bad so I don't know what to trust! Thank you in advance!

We went to the Secrets in Jamaica for a vacation and it was amazing there, not one complaint! Amazing food, great bars, great staff, rooms were beautiful, pools were great, beach was nice, it is a GREAT place!

Did you find restaurants/bars crowded at secrets because of the sharing between the 2 resorts?

FH and I are strongly leaning towards Sandals Regency La Toc in St. Lucia for our honeymoon. I've read a lot of reviews which are predominantly positive and it just seems to be a reputable company that has a track record of happy guests. Personally, I know that if I am somewhere where I have to pay for every $12 cocktail I won't enjoy myself as much so an all inclusive like sandals seems to be good for us. Just check about the surrounding area in Jamaica; I know some parts are not very good so if you were planning on taking day trips or anything to explore it is good to know the area and if it's even safe.

Re: Sandals vs secrets vs couples

Loved Jamaica! FH and I went in April. We stayed the Paradise Cove (Jewel Resorts) property in Runaway Bay. It's a smaller sized resort but adults only, which was a must for us!

I spent hours and hours on tripadvisor looking over reviews, and we weren't disappointed! If were to go back, I would probably choose a bigger resort, just so that there are more options for food. But they included an excursion to Dunns River Falls, which was awesome!

Sorry I can't help with the resorts you're looking at but that tripadvisor has forum boards of their own, and people post like crazy there. There were lots of posters that had already gone and posted their experiences and lots that were counting down, and you can FM them as well.

Hope that helps!
