Save the Dates??
Okay. FH and I HAVE to send out STDs due to a ton of family out of state/out of country... and because its near the holidays (12/13/14).With that said... WHEN should we send them out? I know 6-9 months is NOT enough time with OOT guests like we (mainly I) have... but is sending them out like... Aug/Sept/Oct of this year TOO early?
Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions? Funny anecdotes?

I would say at LEAST 12 months but since you have so many out of towners even earlier wouldn't hurt. Just make sure that everyone you send a STD to is definitely going to be invited; I've read so many stories where people sent STDs out to everyone than didn't want to invite some to the wedding anymore.

Save the Dates??
Oh yeah... I won't be sending any STDs to the people on the 'B' list or people I'm on the fence about being on the 'A' list.I was curious because I've seen so many girls getting married later THIS year... JUST sending out STDs now!

I'll be sending mine out this November--one year before our wedding.

I'm most likely sending them in April or May but we don't have a lot of OOT guests. Since you have a lot I would do 1 year before.

1 year is good. Anything earlier, people will probably lose the STD or forget about it.

Save the Dates??
I did mine like 13 months before because I have so many OOT guests. one of my friends in Ny thought it was a real invite (cause I'd really send a magnet as a professional wedding invite?) and was like I'll see you on Friday next month! I was like um you will? luckily he messaged me that though cause he woulda been showing up at fox hollow thinking it was my wedding lol. with his date!

oh so my point was do it like exactly 1 year after the date to avoid any confusion lol.

Yep, I would say 1 year before because you have OOT guests and it's near the holidays.

I agree one year before. Plus you will be sending it around the holidays so you don't want it to get lost with all the christmas cards and stuff people get!*i meant one year before, not one month! lol

I am going with one year-- early enough to make hotel and flight arrangements, late enough for them not to lose the STD lol.

Save the Dates??
I think October of this year would be fine as you dont want the save the dates to get mixed up with the the holiday rush (when a lot of regular mail seem to go missing).

I would say a year (maybe a little more to avoid the holiday mail) would be good....especially if you do a magnet or something that they most likely wont lose.

Agreed! We are wedding date buddies and we just took our engagement photos this past weekend so once they come in I am sure we will send them out right away
