second guessing...

second guessing...

my dress... I'm not sure if I've posted about this, but ever since I ordered my dress, I keep second guessing it... I originally wanted NO beading and ended up with a dress with a TON of beading... I LOVE the dress from the back and I love the bottom... but everytime I look at the dress from the front I feel boxy and like there is too much beading on the front and it's so plain on the bottom.... When I look at the pictures, I'm like, that isn't what I remember seeing when I had it on, it didn't look so 'beady'....

I don't even know why I'm upset, it's not in the budget to get another dress... I guess I just needed a little vent.

thanks for listening.

Re: second guessing...

it seems like a common feeling after buying the dress to second guess it... but just remember its not the dress that makes the girl- its the girl that makes the dress- you will be a beautiful bride! so try not to worry

I feel the same way all the time I haven't tried on my dress since I ordered it months ago and now I'm going for my fitting tomorrow night and I feel like I don't like my dress!! I think its cause it looks so different on!

I love your dress! When else to you get to wear beading and have yourself sparkle! It looks great on you in your pictures!

it's unfortunate that there is so much to choose from. It like walking into a candy store on a diet........

Have faith in your taste and feel good about your choice. Convince yourself you chose it because it was the perfect dress for you!!

You're not alone...i've been doing the same. I see all these other dresses and they are so gorgeous and I'm always thinking maybe I jumped on mine too fast. I HATED beading and sweetheart neckline. And mine are both of those things, now i'm thinking I dont know if I really like it anymore.

I'm going to see my dress again in the few weeks when I go with my BMs to try on dresses, i'll try it on and hopefully I get the same feeling as I did the first time

It is just so hard to pick one dress out of a ton of beautiful ones. You will look beautiful in no matter what you wear. Woman makes the dress the dress does not make the woman.

ahhhh dont second guess your dress it is absolutely beautiful I went through the same thing I think a good portion of us had - the beading is what makes your gown and when I saw it in your album a while back I thought to myself I wish I had a gown like that overall we will never be satisified j/k

I appreciate that, the problem is, it isn't really *my* taste... but all the plain dresses I thought I wanted didn't do anything for me.... I guess we'll have to see.

Thanks for your kind words

Re: second guessing...

i'm the exact same way about my dress. my dress was nothing what i imagined i would wear, but when i have it on, i get such a fantastic feeling! but when i see pics, i'm like, 'oh, that's it?' but then i also remember trying on dresses, and things i thought would look great on me, that looked awful. we all go through that doubting feeling, it's our wedding dress, we only get to wear it once, it's normal to doubt it. go try it on again, and you'll fall in love with it all over again.

ETA: your dress is beautiful and looks gorgeous on you!! i don't see 'boxy' at all! once it's fitted for you, i'm sure that feeling will go away.

Yell... I think it's time you went and visited your dress.... Fall in love with it all over again. Remember, the way that it looks in the picture you took is NOT how it's going to look in the picutres your photog takes... different lighting, better camera, professional eye....

PS... I had second thoughts too, but once I went to see my dress and try it on again, all of those feelings from when I first put it on came back and those second thoughts flew out the window.

yea I think so lol I got a 'feeling' right when I put my dress on. But I didnt want to jump the gun so i tried on a bunch more. There was another dress that my mom, MOH and all the ladies in the salon were like THATS THE ONE!!! I didnt think it was, and went with MY first choice. Now thinking about that dress that everyone loved, i'm like 'hmmm it was really nice, what the hell was I thinking!'

Grrrrrrrrrrr
