Not selfish at all it is something you will have too look at the rest of your life! I am lucky that my FH has a good eye for my type of style so I didnt have to pick mine out but If I didn't like it we would have gotten something else. He did show me my other options after he gave me mine. Good lucj in finding the PERFECT ring!
yeah i am lucky to that FH has good taste in jewelry so i totally trusted him when it came to the e-ring...the only thing i told him was that I wanted princess cut...other than that he did it 100% on his own and i love it!
however...i know not all guys have an eye for jewelry so i don't think its selfish to pick out what you want...your the one who has to wear it every day so you have to be happy!

Selfish - absolutely not.
It's not what I wanted to do, because I really wanted to be proposed to with a ring as a surprise. But I don't think it is selfish at all. I think it is extremely practical.

I picked mine out as well - well i showed him a few I wanted and than he picked out of those.
