Should I attempt to cover my scar w/make up?

Should I attempt to cover my scar w/make up?

I have a 3 inch half mon scar on my right shoulder. I have a strapless dress. I am not sensitive about my scar. It has occurred to me though that I could buy special make up to try and cover it up.

Do you think I should bother, or will it look like I'm trying to cover it up. I'm not sure what to do here.

Thanks.

Karen

I'd say if it bothers you, cover it up.

Being male, I wear my scars with pride.

I saw an ad for some special makeup that covers any scar...I have heard they work well--you could try it out beforehand...Are you having your makeup done? I am sure they would also cover it up. Even if it is dark, I am sure the makeup would make it less noticable in pictures if you think you would be self conscious...

My friend didn't cover hers up b/c it doesn't bother her but she did ask the photographer to airbrush it in her pictures.

The scar is faded, it is only a bit darker than my normal skin. I'm not sure what to do. I would only want to cover it up, if it truly disappeared. I guess I could buy the scar hiding make up and try it.

Part of me wonders if I should just accept my scar and wear it with pride. I wonder if I'd be more self conscious about it trying to cover it up.

Can all photographers air brush, I am using Patken?

I have a 3 inch scar across my neck. I'm not self-conscious about it, but I didn't want it showing in my pictures. When I went for trials, they did a horrible job covering it...it was cakey, and looked fake...and totally noticeable. So I ended up doing it myself. I used concealer, that I dabbed on with my fingers lightly, then used powder to set it. You couldn't see it at all!

What brand make up did you use? I am thinking of buying Jane Iredale, I hear this is great for covering up scars. I am having my make up done, I didn't think about doing a trial on my scar. I'm only now thinking of my scar w/less than 2 weeks to go.

I have a big keloid scar under my collarbone, and my dress does not cover it, I don't know whether I am covering it or not w/ make up, but i have talked to my photograher and asked her to have any pics w/ it showing airbrushed out....

I used my regular Covergirl concealer, and I think the powder was by L'Oreal.

This is the most close-up pic I could find, and you can faintly see the line right above the bottom of this pic (at least I know it's there). But my scar was only a year old, it's very pink still...and you couldn't tell it was there.

Hey ladies (grooms, close your eyes from this point forward )-

I have STRETCH MARKS ON MY BREASTS. I've had them since I got my breasts (12 years old). AND they go above the neckline of my dress (which is like a strapless, only it'll have sleeves), so the tops of them will be visible. I might ask my makeup artist to cover them with airbrushing, but it might come off on the dress. I've tired Dermablend leg and body cover - looks horrible. I might just leave them too - FI doesn't care, and I wear bathing suits and other things just fine.

So, no, I don't have any advice for you, just wanted to share.

I probably wouldn't worry about it, but that's just me.

I also have a scar across the base of my neck... Dermablend is great.... you can buy it a drug store... the make up lady used it and you can't see my scar at all in any of the pictures....

You might want to cover it up for pictures.
