Shower location help - Queens (updated with a new question..)

Alright - I've lived in Queens for my ENTIRE life and am reaching a complete brain fart when it comes to shower locations.

I want it at Austin Ale House, but I brought my mom there while she was in town last weekend and while she liked it and took their info, she asked me if there were any other places that I was interested in. And now I'm feeling like maybe I should look elsewhere. My mom hasn't asked for much - heck, she hasn't asked for ANYTHING in this planning process, and she's going to be the one shelling out the money for the shower.

So I got party package info from a Thai restaurant.

And mom laughed at me.

Oy. I don't know what I'm doing.

Any suggestions will be lovely. I'm completely clueless about places...or at least, I'm not really coming up with anything and I've been picking my brain all day about it.

My shower will be on the smaller side (30 people, tops), so a restaurant would be best probably.

New question: I'm thinking of more of a brunch thing...suggestions on good brunch spots too!!!

on union tpke LUIGIS. their party room holds like 40 ppl tops and its beaaaaaaaaauttttttttttiful! its soo girly and ugh! it was my top choice til i saw verids. google luigis union tple. it'll come up.

Gotta check out these other places. Plum's website was slow and irritating so they're off my list now. I have no patience.

You could try Villaggio in Whitestone (their black linguini w/ calamari is my favorite), Park Side in Corona (this is an old family standby for me) and if you like chinese, you could try King Yum or there's a really great white table cloth chinese place in the Baybridge shopping center by the whitestone bridge. I think it's called Baybridge Szechuan.

ETA: Sorry, King Yum is on Union Tpke. Barb knows it too.

one of bm's had her shower at oneills... my mom used to work with the owner... she is an awesome person... its a good location for a shower in queens...

Ang - Durro's is gone. I wouldn't go there anyway because when I was a kid I almost died choking on a bone there and the entire staff did NOTHING to help me. LOL. It was actually so traumatic that when we'd drive by, I'd close my eyes and hold my breath - like kids do when they pass a cemetary. It's now a bunch of three-family houses.

Durros was closed down a couple years ago, knocked down and now there are 3 story apartment buildings there

LOL... dbags.... if my parents were there they would have saved you!!! They've saved 3 people that were choking!

i thought i heard that they closed but I couldnt remember!!!
