Shower Q

How many of you KNOW about your shower... the date, location, etc. Do you think its better to know or would you rather be surprised?

Right now I do NOT know when mine is, but I feel like if I do know it would make communication and planning easier for everyone, b/c I'd be a liaison.

I know all about mine. My mother in Connecticut is planning it for me here, so she needed to ask me about locations and guests, etc. I have a crazy schedule so she had to check the date and time too.

I would have loved for it to be a surprise, but I am just happy to have one.

I know where mine is..but I dont know when. My mom is set on keeping that part a secret, however i'm very good at figuring this crap out. I trust what my mom and BMs would do for me, so Im not too worried...
i LOVE planning parties and I would have liked to put together my own shower, but my mom would kill me lol

I don't know about mine and I really hope that I dont find out. I am so annoying and figure everything out. I have had 2 surprise parties in my life and I figured them both out....I hate pretending to be surprised but I also am uncomfortable with surprises too. This I want to be totally surprised about and I hope my mom can pull it off because I am just so damn smart

I know my date because of my work and other commitments. It was just easier that way than a total surpise shower. I am not sure of the location but I was able to give my MOH some suggestions as to where I'd like it to be held. It is up to her and my Mom to sort out the rest of the details.

That is totally me as well! I am always the one plotting and scheming for other people's events. I keep getting told you WILL NOT HELP or DECORATE for your own shower

It just seems so odd to me HAHA

i dont know and I dont want to know. I think it would be too stressful for me if i knew about it or was in on the planning. i dont want to know about the crap that goes on between anyone or who says what. just take me there and surprise me.

I don't know about mine, nor do I want to know. We are in charge of our wedding and all of the communication that is involved with the wedding comes through us and our FH's....let whoever is taking care of the shower handle this one! lol That's how I look at it!

I know the date b/c I work some wekends and had to plan around that. I don't know where, but I know what I'm getting from my BP because FH told me.

I think people need to do what they're comfortable. with. If you love surprises, ask to be surprised. If you're more hands-on, ask to be informed or maybe even help plan. I don't think one approach is better than the other...

I know where my shower is, b/c my mom is terrilbe at keeping secrets. I don't know when it is yet, but i'm sure she'll slip on that also by the time my shower comes around!

me too i really wanna be surprised i have never had a real surprise party before.....my girlfriends planned a surprise bday dinner for me and my MOH this year but besides that i never had anything! i can't wait to see what they come up with!! lol

I have no clue about when or where but I do know that my invitations are going out this week

Right now I don't know but I do know that they started planning it. I know my mom will try her hardest for me not to know but I think it will just be impossible because both my FSIL and one of my sisters live out of state and usually aren't in NY at the same time. So that will be a giveaway.

I am ok with it either way. I have put my sister in charge of being the Liaison with FMIL and FSIL so I have no worries about that.

I knew about mine and was happy I did. It did not spoil a thing or make it any less exciting. It was still overwhelming and fun and exciting to walk in the room and see everyone there. Knowing doesn't take away from any of that, if that's what you're worried about.

This is me. I totally want it to be a surprise. I imagine it will be in July or August, maybe September. I have enough issues with the wedding guest list and the centerpieces and the menus and the programs ... I do not want to have to worry about the shower too!!!

I don't know about mine but I figure I will have an idea around when it is; due to my schedule there are only so many weekends my MOH and mom can pick. I know they are planning b/c of questions they have asked me. I don't want to know only b/c I have planned a few showers and I really don't want any part in my own. I trust my mom and all the girls in my bridal party and since they are my family and closest friends they know what would make me happy.
