Just curious....who is 'suppossed' to pay for the shower. For my sis's shower I was the only one in the wedding so i planned and my mom paid bc i was still in college and barely working. for my shower FH told me he talked to my sis (MOH) and she is planning the whole thing and the BM are all chipping in. i dont think my mom is paying. then today i was talking to my FSIL and she said BM should not pay anything and it is only the mom and MOH who pay. what do you guys think??

Thats not true at all. There is no right answer to this. Anyone who throws usually pays or chips in -- so if your MOH and BMs and Mom are all throwing the shower, they should all be chipping in to pay really.
In my case, my BP and mom hosted, so they all paid. My mom paid most of it, but they all chipped in what they could (and they're all in college too).

My mom is paying for the whole thing. The bridal party will have to work at the shower while my mom enjoys it! hehe

My girls all went in together for my first shower.
My FMIL hosted and paid for my second shower........
I think it really all depends on the situation, time and personal finances......

i don't like the idea of rules and stuff on who pays for things. it's 2007....no rules on anything!
my mom paid for most of it, and my BM's paid for the rest.

This is what happened at my shower!
My mom paid for it but when she got there, my BMs ran the games, helped me with my gifts, etc.

Nowadays really anything flies in regard to the bridal shower. Sometimes the brides mother hosts, sometimes it's the bridesmaids, and sometimes it's a combination of the two - or even the bm's, and both moms. For me personally, my mom is going to host my shower, and my girls will throw my bachelorette party. IMO, they have enough expenses as it is, I would rather not have them pay for my shower too. JMO.
