Shower spinoff: Do you WANT to be 'surprised'?

Honestly, I don't. I don't think you can even really be surprised-almost every bride gets a shower-so they know its coming...
So I told my mom and all she is telling me is that its at the end of June...I already started practicing my 'surprised' faces.

I did everyhting in my power to break everyone down about the date of my shower. It never worked!

I didnt want to know completely.. I wanted to have an idea though and unfortunately people SUCK and ruined it the day before.

no...I didn't want to be surprised. I kind of figured out when mine was and was happy I did. Nobody gave in and told me though until the day before when there was just no point anymore. I had a blast and was so happy I knew about it.

I mean if I really wanted to know I could look in my mom's pocket calendar that she writes everything down in or I could have looked around my grandma's for the invite...but I have restrained myself...I feel like its Christmas Eve all the time

I did NOT want to be surprised! I hate not being in control. Lol. I never thought of myself as a control freak but since planning the wedding, I 've been in control of everything and then came the shower and I felt helpless. Lol. Thank goodness that's over!

Oh No!! My Mom was so dead serious about surprising me. She was so worried that the in-laws were gonna blow it...and believe me, they almost did! lol. I didn't snoop because I know it meant alot to my mom to surprise me, so it made her happy that I was.

My mother was so pissed when she thought I knew today...she was also pissed at my G-ma for almost telling me yesterday...I wouldn;t want to ruin it for her

I dont want to know....we have so few surprises when we grow up, so i dont mind. I am sure someone will spill the beans, but I am not going to pry....or look at my registry...well, that is what i say now, but we'll see...

I knew I never would be surprised because I always figure things out- so I told everyone I wanted to know and so now I will be prepared and can dress for it too

My MOH asked me, and I told her I wanted to be surprised. I really enjoy surprises. Although I doubt she will be able to pull it off. My mother already said where it is (thanks mom!), and there is only one friend that could invite me to that particular place without me thinking it was strange - and my MOH doesn't know her.

I definitely want to be surprised though I know that the day of I won't be. Fi and I never go to restaurants that aren't part of a chain so if one afternoon, Fi's like 'Let's go to Blah Blah' for lunch, I'll know what's up. I thought I figured out when it was and I seriously flipped out. In fact my mom is currently lying to one of my BMs about the actual date of the shower because she has a big mouth and can't keep a secret for anything.

However I'm still constantly asking about it to try and get as much information as I can about the party itself. Like, I know it's on a Saturday and what the favors are and what the prizes for the games are.

Yes, I really wanted to be surprised, but I wasn't.

However, it didn't ruin anything, I still had a great time at my shower.

I absolutely did not want to be surprised. Last year was so stressful, we did everything in 9 months, got engaged, bought a house, moved, planned a wedding and got married. By the time August/September rolled around I was just a ball of anxious stress. My MOH asked me if I wanted to know and I said yes. I even helped pick the date.

I don't think not being surprised took anything away from it either. I was pleanstly surprised about certain guests that made it to my shower that I didn't think would be able to.

I agree, part of me is dying to know and the other part just wants to be surprised! I don't know how they plan on getting me there without asking me to take off from work so that will be a clue.

I did and didn't want to be surprised. I like to plan everything and make sure everything goes right, but they wouldn't let me do anything or give any ideas for the shower AND they ended up surprising me! Nobody slipped and I had no idea until I walked in and saw pink balloons in the back room.

I didn't want to be surprised, and I wasn't. I need to plan things out - my outfit, etc., and I just didn't want to be taken aback.
