OK..sorry to rant here, but I'm getting tired of this... All of the photographers that we've been to are not really working with us. We DO have a BUDGET that we're trying to work in and I don't think they undertand! The pictures they have been showing us are beautiful, but they are not listening to me when I tell them what I want with my budget. We tell them that we do NOT need parent albums b/c of the extra cost and they tell us that we can instead use the cost of those books towards our album....I DO NOT NEED MORE PICTURES!! I WANT YOU TO TAKE $$ OFF THE PACKAGE!! My bridesmaid is a photographer (still in college) and told us that after the wedding she will blow up some picks for us and even do that black/white photos with just my bouquet in color, etc, so I do NOT need more picks!! They then tell me that the package is as low as they can go. And THEN 'suggest' that we go with the most EXPENSIVE package just incase we want more pics after the wedding is shot! GIVE ME A BREAK! We have been quoted about $2,000 for a B/G album 2 folios and 50 TYs and 1 -11x12, 2 -5x7s for about $2,000. But I also don't want the folios and no TYs. I just want to have my own TYs(just a card, no photo). I KNOW that most of my friends/extended family will NOT hold onto those pictures, and they will get thrown away in the end. SO, does ANYONE know a photographer that will do what I want and take out all the crap I don't need AND lower the price?!?!? We were HOPING for a package about $1000-1,200. We've spoken to ADA, Marco, VIP & Renessance (sp?). I think that's it. The wedding is in Suffolk, at East Wind Country Gardens. 4/18/04. Sorry for the rant!

HE'S THE BEST GUY IN THE WORLD, AND HE'S A FABULOUS PHOTOGRAPHER (HE'S MINE, BUT I'VE SEEN OTHER WORK OF HIS TOO)!!!!
I KNOW HE CAN GO VERY LOW FOR A BASIC PACKAGE OR VERY HIGH FOR ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES, BUT HE MAY EVEN DO BETTER, I DON'T KNOW.

Call Cassarino. When we met with Razz he said they could add or subtract or replace items in the price list. Tell if your budget and see what he can come up with.

Avidon Photography www.avidon.com He is more expensive than some others, but he only includes what you WANT! He will be with us the entire day and we are also getting married in Suffolk. It's worth a shot. He is one of the most relaxed and one of the nicest people I have met. Good luck!

We used a husband and wife team that was very flexible with swaping things we didn't want for things we did want, ie: no engagement photo, more enlargements. They also had some lower priced packages. Let them know what you need and your price range. They didn't push extras - the focus was on getting maximum shots and a nice album.
If you really can't find a package or photographer that is in your price range you can try non-wedding photographers.
Sometimes local photojournalists will do this for the cost of film plus a small hourly rate. You get all the photos and the negatives then you take responsibilty making your own wedding album.
We are doing something similar. We are going to have pre-wedding artistic professional photos taken in San Francisco, where we live. Then we will have a couple people in attendance responsible for taking all the day-of photographs that we want. We are actually going to be spending about the same $$$ as a wedding package out in CA but I did not want the photo stress on my wedding day.
Hope this gives you some options to think about.

I am having the same photography problem. We're on a tight budget too and don't need all the extra pictures that are offered. The lowest I've been quoted by anyone is $1600! And I can't even begin to afford video also!

Leli does both video and photography and will work within your budget. You should give him a call. As I said before his work is amazing. I have a few friends that used him as well. One who just used him for video but after they saw his work wished they used him for photography. I wish you the best but give Gary a call.

We used Conrad Rego from Impact Imaging...he did an awesome job and was able to do it all in our budget.

i keep touting the photographer we are using...and i am gonna do it again. Her name is Carol, FM me if you want her number. She came in a little high at first for me(i was looking to spend the same as you) and when i asked her if we could drop some stuff and change some stuff, she did it. I love her personality, and she works out of her home so there is no overhead really. BTW, she isn't shady, she does a lot of subcontracting for these studios, she just has a side biz that she doesn't advertise for, all word of mouth.

we are using renaissance. we thought they were a good price because you need to consider that they are pricing with the wedding albums. alot of places price with out the albums and after the wedding you are lucky to have money to put the albums together. there work is unbelieveable.
