Re: since being engaged

Nothing has changed since we got engaged. We have been together 4 years. Lived together over a year before we got engaged. The only thing that is different so far is that we talk about our wedding and stuff.

I dont live with my FH, so that will be a change, but we have gone away together and I do stay at his place, so its not like we dont know what we are getting into .. I dont think anything dramatic will change except how we keep our finances.

Nothing has changed for us, either!! Aside from no longer referring to each other as 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend,' nothing sticks out to me that I can say, 'Oh, ____ has changed since we got engaged.' We've been living together since May, and have gotten two dogs since then, so I guess that has changed

Re: since being engaged

Nothing has really changed...we still both live seperately at home, maybe we've been a little more stressed. Sometimes he still calls me his girlfriend, and I just correct him lol. We've been together almost 4 years, so it's not like we weren't expecting this.

I think they only changes that will come is the level of commitment you are both in. Marriage means you will be together a long long time, and with that inevitably means lots of challenges, losses, and ups and downs. But you will be in it for the long haul!

You are absolutely right! The only thing that might have changed is the beginning of wedding stress!! Otherwise... I dont see what the big fuss over 'changes' really is.

i think its emotionally different, you know you will get married and you talk about it, but the fact that you are officially going to spend the rest of yourlife with that person is amazing. we had talked about setting a date before the official engagement because we knew what path we were on, and it still felt different to see him down on his knee

We've been together 7 years this month. Things have changed since we met since we were so young...but since we got engaged things are just about the same...except we are more stressed with wedding stuff of course!

Nothing, we have been living together for about 5 years. I just have more stress since I deal with the money, he is 2 laid back sometimes so I yell ay him, but hey he is used to it.

Maybe b/c you guys already live together? I don't feel it much now, but everyone keeps telling me it's going to be great once we get married and move in together. Can't wait

We have been together for 3 yrs now and have lived together for 2 1/2 yrs .... so nothing is going to change for us .... We have a very strong relationship together and I know that it will always be that way !

Re: since being engaged

FH and I have gotten a lot closer since getting engaged. It made us feel like we were committing and taking our relationship to the next level. So we have been much more open with each other (we've always been honest, it's just different). We've also moved in together.

I read this book about how to psychologically deal with getting married. It said that for people who live together before getting married, or for people who feel like things won't change that much, they should do something special to mark some kind of a change in their relationship (moving in to a new place, buying a house, having sex for the first time, etc.).

Not that FH and I have anything planned. I have a feeling we'll just end up feeling special or something.

nothing has changed for us.weve ben together 7 years and i think its good nothing changed means we knew each other well enough b4 so all we have do to is celebrate now instead of finding out stuff b/c we r now engaged or living together

Re: since being engaged

My FH and I are the same...we've been together a year and 3 months (he proposed on our 1 year anniversary!) And from the moment we met we knew this was it, so getting engaged feels the same, its just like deep down we know we're starting a new phase of our lives.
We always called eachother Future Wife and Future Husband though...

Re: since being engaged

Other then talking about the wedding I can't say anything major has changed for us. We've been living together for 6 years already. I think we worked out all the little bumps in the road in the early years. There is of course the stress of 'how are we paying for this!!'

Re: since being engaged

Things for us have changed since we have moved in together in May- I am really neat and FH is very messy so we have had to take some time to adjust...In the beginning I use to get really frustrated but we have managed to work through it. It is good practice for the future.
