Ok, so as you all know, fh moved in on July 1st right after we got engaged. While we were dating sleeping in the same bed was fine b/c we only did it on the weekends (and we weren't really sleeping anyway). Now that this is the real world, I get very little sleep. He hogs the bed in the worst way and I always feel like I'm about to hit the floor. My sleep is broken every night by having to ask him to move over. I'm going back to work next week and now I always wake up exausted. argh... Living together is amazing in every other way. Do you have this problem, too?
We fight in bed all the time ( and out the bed), but I love to sleep with the TV FH hates it. He has ruined my habit.

I totally feel your pain...not only is FH a bed hog, but so is my chihuahua!!! And when the cat sleeps at the bottom of the bed, he is like a paperweight holding the blankets down! No matter how hard I shove, I can never win!!!!!!

Oh, I know how you feel! My FH snores like a MAC truck in reverse and he has this habit of bed and/or blanket hogging! You definitely get used to it! I just gently wake him up when he hogs the bed, and he will stop...if not, I would switch sides...that helps sometimes! Or, I just throw my legs over his, and that wakes him up!

Re: Sleeping with FH is making me...
We had that problem b/c we only had a full size bed.....
THEN...we upgraded to a king size and its no longer a problem.
I know what you mean though- I would wake up cling on for dear life to the mattress and he was RIGHT behind me will all the room behind him...LOL..move over buddy!! I was always achy too.
Maybe get one of those body pillows to make a barrier to teach him to stay on his side.

Re: Sleeping with FH is making me...
DH and I have been living together for about a year and it's been the worst sleeping experience of my life. I hardly get any sleep unless I'm alone in the bed....stinks!

I have the same problem. We have found that while on vacation the King size bed is awesome. We both take sides, I dont get farted on and my sonic body heat doesnt melt him LOL. Now the only thing is trying to figure out how to get that bed to fit in my bedroom. Cause thats all that will just about fit if its a king size.

LOL..Same here but I learn a trick. Whenever he hogs the bed, I put my legs over him until he moves. One thing took a long for me to adjust is his snoring. He snore like a sleeping bull dog and I literally had move to the couch at 2 or 3 AM...but after sleeping with him for 6 years I jut got use to it. Now, I can't sleep without him.

King size bed is totally the way to go...We had the same problems because of the incessant snoring but I'm learning to live on a little less sleep! haha j/k

Re: Sleeping with FH is making me...
FH says IM the one hogging the bed but whenever I wake up I'm on the edge clinging to the matress for dear life. He sleeps WILD and always manages to take the fitted sheet of HIS side (how do you do that every night???)
When we first starting sleeping in the same bed he would startle easily...if I touched him he would jump up and fly out of the bed looking around...it used to scare the crap out of me.

Re: Sleeping with FH is making me...
While researching gift ideas for our first anniversary, coming up in a week and a half, I found something that said the first year is the year of adjstment! And baby, it sure is! Yes, you've lived together, slept together, ate together and such but not 24/7 and not as husband and wife! So all of those little things may pop out here and there! But in time, you will adjust. His subconscious (while maybe slower than yours) will pick up on the fact that there is another body in the bed and simmer down on the movement. Your subconcious will acclimate to the wiggly worm next to you and sleep through it more and more!
If not... get a king size bed!
Until then, kick back! When DH starts to snore before I fall asleep, I give him a little nudge and he stops and rolls over without even waking up.

TOTALLY had this problem! you are not alone. my DH tends to sleep in a weird diaganol position, that takes up the entire freaking bed. i would get a small part of the bed to try and sleep. not to mention he SNORES like you wouldn't believe.
it takes some time--cause they are used to their own sleeping habits....but after awhile they eventually compromise and automatically adjust to let you sleep. i still sometimes have to push my DH and tell him to 'turn over' so he's not snoring right in my ear. but overall--after a little while he finally stays on his side of the bed!
You're lucky mine doesn't snore but he farts like a fog horn every night!!
LMAO You are not alone girl! It takes time to get used to living togetehr full time. We 'pseudo' lived together on the weekends before we were married but now EVERYTHING changed... He is a total hosue husband and rides my butt because Im messier than he is but I always just hand him the mop and say 'you do it it because you won't like how I do it.' which eh doesn't! If I load the dishwasher he twitches so he's just started doign th major cleaning himself and I straighten. His dad is OCD and Im seeing it in him now...
Just like with anyone you live with, once you are up close and personal with them EVERYDAY thats when you see how they handle life. We've been together almost 5 years and I never knew he was so particular about the BRAND of sponge he MUST use. Take it in stride. Love conquers all..or something like that

Re: Sleeping with FH is making me...
totally understand ~ when he used to stay over in my apartment (i had a queen size bed) and that just did not work ~ when we purchased our house we both agreed to get a new bed and we purchased a KING size bed ~ well guess what we both don't even know the other is in the bed... it is the BEST thing!
not sure what size bed you are sharing but if it is a queen upgrade to a KING right away!

Re: Sleeping with FH is making me...
FH has this problem with me!! he says i hog the bed and he trys to push me over and I wont budge! We moved in together in May. I think it just takes getting used to. We are using a full size bed right now cus i hate his queen size mattress and my bed is only 2 years old while his is like 15 years old. But we plan to one day get a king sized bed so we both have lots of room!

Re: Sleeping with FH is making me...
I use to have this problem...FH use to punch and kick in his sleep and guess who had to absorb that?? But now that we have been living together for years when he isn't home I can't sleep... give it some time and keep moving him over... he will learn...they just take some time.

Yes, we do too. Only I'm the bed hog & often kick Dh off the bed and give him no room whatsoever. I think Im gunna be locked out of the bedroom one night
