Sleeveless (not strapless) gown
Hi all. I've been getting so much great information from reading everyone's posts on this site, so I'm hoping you can help me. I am looking for a bridal gown that is not strapless, nor one with spaghetti straps. I would ideally like a tank style sleeve, but would consider a halter. I do not want to tack on straps to a strapless, as I do not like the look of that. In the stores I've been to so far, they have only had a handful of non-strapless gowns. They have all been apologetic, saying that the designers simply are not making anything other than strapless this season, but that many customers come in looking for dresses with straps and end up settling for a strapless and/or have straps tacked on. I do not want to settle!I've looked in Princess Bridals (they had a nice one, but I believe it has been discontinued), Bridal Reflections in Massapequa, and Burton's. I have appointments with Bridal Garden in Bethpage and Bridal Suite in Centereach. I'm willing to look at shops in Nassau and Suffolk.
Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!

Re: Sleeveless (not strapless) gown
My sister tried on quite a few at Bridal Suite of Bayshore. Also Commack Wedding center had a whole bunch, but it is a little chaotic in there if you go during the weekend. If you go to Bridesave, com you can look through dresses by the neckline. If you see one you like when you click on the page it will tell you the designer.
Have fun shopping!
ETA: I saw that Casablanca had quite a few when I was looking through websites with her.

Re: Sleeveless (not strapless) gown
They do exist. RK bridal in the city has a large selection of gowns by different designers if you are willing to make the trip.

Re: Sleeveless (not strapless) gown
The dresses do exist, they are just extremely hard to find. I was having the same problem because I didn't want a strapless dress and I didn't want something added. I ultimately found my dress at Kleinfeld's. It is an Alvina Valenta. She makes a few w/ the tank style neckline. Here's a pic of mine:

Re: Sleeveless (not strapless) gown
Is this the kind of style or did you want scoop neck or v-neck?
These are from Maggie Sotero

Re: Sleeveless (not strapless) gown
Most (90%) of designers will add any type of sleeve (strap) that you'd like....so don't turn up a gorgeous dress that you fall in love w/based on it not having straps....

Try Priscilla of boston. My dress has straps on it because I felt the way you did. Pics are in my album.

Re: Sleeveless (not strapless) gown
I thought for sure that I would get a 'tank' style gown...wound up getting a strapless. BUT, I tried on two gorgeous tank type dresses at the Wedding Center in Commack..wish I knew the designer...sorry. I loved one in particular but it was kind of 'summery' and I'm getting married in the fall. But, I see you are a summer bride, so maybe you should check it out! Good luck! I see that quite a few girls posted pics of some they know of and they're all beautiful..... Too late for me to change my mind!

Re: Sleeveless (not strapless) gown
Bridesave.com or houseofbrides.com is great for ideas then you take the information from some of your favorites to a store close to you to try on.
