Smithtown Landing Help!

I really liked the people and menu at smithtown landing, but I hated the bathrooms. Has anyone been to a wedding there or had your wedding there, did it bother you? Thanks! I know it is silly but I just can't get it out of my head.

Hey there, I'm having my wedding there July 4th 2014! lol

I have heard nothing but great things about SLCC and that helped us make our decision. Another big factor was Budget. It was by far the best bang for our buck while still giving us a Great menu, many add ons, beautiful grounds, and great service.

The bathrooms...yeah they're pretty bad. But I made my peace with that right away, for me bathrooms are not a major thing, but I do agree they are quite unsightly lol

I didn't let it hold me back because in the grand scheme of things, It's just the bathrooms. Also I just allow myself to accept its a Golf Club and hey that's what bathrooms look like in Parks and such. I am also having a more casual BBQ (although classy not trashy lol) type wedding so it's not a deal breaker for me.

I could have found a place that had nicer bathrooms but probably not with the same attention to detail or price! I encourage you not to write them off. I'm glad I didnt!

Also I have friends who previously went to weddings there and when I asked them about the bad bathrooms, they said they couldn't even remember what it looked like. I think its just us Crazy Brides that focus on all the details lol

Lol yeah that would be ideal. Hey maybe we could pitch this as a show to TLC/HGTV 'Spruce up my Venue!' LOL. I would for sure team up with you and support this!

So I've never seen the bathrooms at SLCC... but... I've been to PLENTY of weddings and never remember the bathrooms. As long as they're CLEAN.... thats all that matters!

Imagine the pink metal stalls in any Public School or Park Girls Bathroom. Yup Pretty much. Lol hey I'm embracing the Public Bathroom look. Lol bathrooms will not make/break my special day!


And I hope no one takes my jokes the wrong way, I mock because I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEE Smithtown Landing CC. They have been nothing short of Amazing since I booked (Back in Nov 2012) Everything I've seen/tasted/read have been great, and I do not regret my decision in the least. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Country Club venue or for Brides on a tight budget.

lol if they really bother you... you can always take tulle and decorate them. I saw something on pinterest where you can take a thing of tulle, wrap it around the door (vertically) and then tie the middle with a bow on each side of the door so it cinches it together and it can make it look pretty :)

scouring pinterest right now, I'm going to Timber Point today, another lessings location, and am hoping I like it just as much and they have better bathrooms!

I was going to recommend TimberPoint to you. They just re did the floors into all solid hardwood, I cannot recall what the bathrooms looked like though lol.


But I do know they gave us a Great Price too so it is def. a good Option.

I just loved Smithtown Landing, but my mom would die over the bathrooms. That is the first question she asks me whenever I get back from a venue. Aye dios mio! I thought this process would be easier. Isn't this supposed to be fun?!?

Lol aww. It's Fun and Stressful. That's why I'm both fortunate and unfortunate to be paying for it myself. I have nicely told everyone that butts in, that I will gladly upgrade to their preferences if they would give me the funds to afford it! Lol Luckily my family has been overall supportive and although I ask for opinions, really it's me and my FHs choice since we are the ones paying. Just remember you can't please everyone so just worry about you and Hubby! Lol

I fell in LOVE with SLCC and booked on the spot and had absolutely no issue with the bathrooms bc everything else was so beautiful.. And the bathrooms were just bathrooms..
I remember I hadn't used the one in the main room and my sister went in and I said 'how's the bathroom?' And she shrugged and said 'just a bathroom'
It so doesn't matter, like someone else said, as long as they're CLEAN! :)

I didn't even go to the bathroom during my wedding except when I first got there in the bridal suite lol
