so confused

FMIL gave us a sum of money a while ago to put towards the wedding that we've already used for the hall and various vendors. She just mentioned that someone told her she was supposed to send out rehearsal dinner invitations. She didn't mention giving us any additional money for the rehearsal dinner. We were going to send out the invites ourselves....are we supposed to ask her if she plans on hosting? Or are we supposed to just let her send the invitations out because she already gave us money previously?? I'm so confused.

I would definitely ask! If she wants to send out the invites, it seems like she wants to host it. Worst case scenario she says no, then you're paying for it like you thought you were anyway!
