I hate it because where ever we go, the price is jacked up because of where we are getting married. I HATE it!

Where are you getting married???
That is UNFAIR! Everyone should pay the same price regardless of where their reception is.

That seems pricey. You should price the same package elsewhere and then do a comparison.

I was just going to say that. (not that it's happened to me, I'm getting married at a middle range catering hall) I've just seen it a lot on the boards, and it makes me nuts. I think it is appalling that vendors do that.
I would NOT book a vendor who used this sales tactic.

you guys missed the key word 'ditigal album'

she is getting a ditigal album... if i know who the vendor is...that price is similiar as those to other couples...

if she/he traded ditigal album for traditional album..the price will be about 3500 or so

FM if you have any questions

That is true...I did miss the word digital. But I still think it is wrong for vendors to hike up the price based on her reception hall location.

We are getting a digital album with around 60 pics in it, 2 parent albums and a lot of other things and not paying anywhere near that amount. Check around and compare. There are plenty of photographers out there and I am sure you will be able to find one that you really like and that can come within your budget.

MCD05 - that's what I was thinking

It's a lot of money, but I don't think it's unreasonable. A lot of time is spent creating a digital album and that is why the price is so high.

yes..Duet does offer that service for you but Duet does not design the book. You will have little or no say in that book. And they say elsewise, they might be lieing to you. (i doubt they will) They don't produce there ditigal books. They send it someplace else to get it much cheaper processed and probally all regular stardard templetes and they just stick pictures in. In other words, your book will look very similar to that of the owners book you previewed at there store

Our ditigal photographer will be making it in house and have very heavy input from me and FW.

i agree..i thought it be cheapier but i'm over it. After seeing serveral books of ditigal, i said i have to have this. this is the best way to express your day!!

the cost almost doesn't matter for a wedding.. i can only live this day once.

Re: SO, do YOU think this is a good deal for photography?

I was told by Duet that they design it all right there in their shop and that we can sit with them and help them lay it out the way we would like to see it. MCD015, have you heard this is untrue?
