We are moving right along with the chemo treatments and she has had minimal reactions to it so far (thank goodness) but she is been SUPER depressed lately. She stays in bed for days at a time and crys a lot.
So today my mom and my aunt went and adopted her a puppy (1/2 beagle 1/2 hot dog)from the North Shore Animal League and surprised her with it today. She got out of bed, for the first time in 3 days, and was laughing and playing with her. I called there to see what she thought and she was so happy. She said that the puppy brightened up her day and she loves her. I think she named her Molly. I'm going over there after work to see all of them! I'll post pictures tomorrow!!!
Keep praying for her. Every little prayer helps. Thanks again, girls. You are all so great and supportive

I'm sorry about your grandma. I'm glad the dog cheered her up! Animals can be amazingly helpful in the healing process.
I love how you called the dachshund a hot dog! hahahaha. I call them hot dog dogs too!

Im so sorry your grandma has been depressed. My granny had a heart attack a few months ago and has been majorly depressed. Im so glad the doggy helped her. That was a great idea. Tell her to be strong! And were all here for you

A puppy was the PERFECT thing to do!!! No matter your mood - a dog can make you feel so good!!! Now your grammy has someone she has to take care of and she can focus on that instead of how sad she is!!!
I'm so happy to hear this!!! I have prayed for her every night & will continue to do so!!!

Im sorry to hear about your grandmother but I think that its fantastic that they adopted a dog for her! they say animals def help heal, keep you happy and healthy!
I wish your grandmother much health - if she is strong she will make it through this and this dog might be just what she needs to become stronger!

Puppies really do cheer people up and I'm so glad to hear that it raised her spirits. Your grammy is in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

I will keep her in my prayers. My grandmother did the same thing. She didn't want to do anything and never wanted to go anywhere. It takes time. This disease is horrible. Please keep us updated and if you need to talk I am here.

I am trying to be so strong for her and I feel like I can turn to you guys for support and that means more to me than you will ever know. All the prayers and thoughts are definitely appreciated, and as I said, you all have no idea how much it means to me and my family.
I stopped by there tonight and the dog is SOOOOO cute. I'll post pictures in the morning!! Grammy was on the floor playing with Molly and Molly was licking her so much. And she just kept smiling!!! it was so great to see!!

i am so sorry to hear that your grandma is feeling depressed But i am glad that the puppy brightened her spirits!!!!!! Dogs can help to heal ... and reduce stress... So i think that was a wonderful idea and super sweet of you! Lots of Hugs and prayers for you and Grandma!

Okay - so that totally made me cry!!! We're here for you in whatever way we can be!!!! You have to take pics of her & Molly and make her a frame or something - she'll LOVE it!! And that way - she can bring a pic of Molly when she goes for Chemo!!!!!!
