1st quote i got was $2,700 2nd was $2,200 3rd is $3,200
nothing has changed. i go in with my book, point to my pictures and say this is what i want.
what gives them the right to charge so differently?????!!!!!

Depends where ya go... we went to 4 so far and got quotes of 3100, 2400, 1900, and 1600

i think what pisses me off even more is that when the quote was given to me and i was asked if it was in my range, FH said no, we wanted it basically 1/2 that. we were almost laughed at or sneered at shall i say and i was told i have expensive taste
i don't know what's better....going in there and telling them your budget or having them come back at you with the quote. i honestly want to be surprised at what they say without me having to say it. that's gonna be the 1 i instantly sign with if they hit around my mark!!

Try going in and telling them exactly what you want and what you are willing to spend on..if they cant accommodate you or provide a reasonable counteroffer look elsewhere....the economy is so bad...maybe if you play hardball it will pay off

Supply/Demand and how well their business is doing.
Same reason I can get toothpaste in the dollar store or I can spend more for the Name brand.

exactly - you pay for the name - roses cost the same wholesale - 50 cents each - they can mark them up however much they want - I know it is frustrating though

annoying i know... i think they upcharge based on reputation, you pay more because you know youll get exceptional service.... not to say that i completely agree with this lol

they play the sales game!
get all quotes in writing ... also have them write down how long the quote is for ..
some sales people are very disorganized and make up pricing, thats why it will change from call to call ...
your note mean nothing to them, so have them write an email .. or type the info and email back to them and have them confirm #;s

wow, that's a huge difference. sometimes they could be a trip. I went to one florist once and they wanted to charge me $75 just to decorate the cake..yeaahhh right!

i'm actually just asking for peonies (which my date they're in bloom at that exact time), hydrangea, ranunculus, stephenotis, roses and curly willow. nothing fancy.
6 high cps of the curly willow and 6 low of hydrangea with a few of the other flowers put in with limes at the base.
5 bo-ks total, 7 boutineires, ceremony site decorated which i know is $300 right off the bat and 4 corsages.
i honestly don't think that's much lol
i've gone to see Lovin Oven, In Full Bloom and Bayview Florist.
I have Verbena appt tonight and soon i'm going to Flower Barn and Burton's.

wow! that is a big price difference. keep looking until you feel comfortable w/ the price AND the florist. THis is how i felt about mine, i felt he was so un-salesy and i know i will enjoy working w/ him.

To me florists are the must confusing vendor. Especially since I've seen price quotes almost $1500 difference for the same thing.

yea i did. we clicked on the creative level and she was easy going. she actually even told me to go look at all these other florists before making a decision. she knew exactly what we wanted and showed us the pics from our description.
i just still think i can do better price wise. maybe i'm dreaming haha
