so how do you REALLY feel about an e-party?

quite frankly I feel it's almost a money pit...on both ends. On one side I know it's going to help us out but on the other I feel it's too much with that, a shower and then the wedding.

I have been to some that were just too over the top and almost seemed like a reception so I just wanted to see how you girlies felt, what you did, etc, etc.

I am opting for a casual bbq over the summer and just want everyone to have a good time, enjoy the food, swim, drink, be merry, yadda yadda yadda lol.

we had a small one, wound up running around 600, but we had about 23 people at it, FH's family and some of our close friends. It all depends. Some can be mini weddings, others can be BBQs at a house or at one of the parks, just to celebrate your good news. Since I had one, I am all for it, but I like parties

I agree with Alyssa.

I am doing something casual probably also. I think having an e-party is a great way to get your families to know each other before the wedding. I didnt really want one in the begining but have changed my mine because I like the idea of getting our whole families together and celebrating, plus were having over a 2 year engagement

I want one, but not a big one. I don't even want to have it at a resturant. I just want both our families to come together and celebrate with maybe a BBQ. It's too much money to have a eparty and we can't afford one.

I keep going back and forth of wanting one and not wanting one. In the beginning I really didn't want one, now I want one so I have started to price it out. So depending upon how much it will cost us will determine whether or not we have one

we're having one because our parents offered to split the cost, and we havent seen most of our families since we got engaged, so we thought itd be nice

as much as I would love it to be the whole family and them meeting and all that good stuff, FH's whole fam lives in SC and my close immediate fam is here on the island . Of course all our friends are here too. His fam I know isn't going to fly up here and neither will my relatives :(.

I can already feel the stress hitting haha

We are having one on July 12th at one of the vineyards b/c his parents offered to pay for everything. If not, I would have just had a bbq in the backyard, which is what I actually wanted to begin with. Nothing too over the top or anything.

I had a mini wedding- it came close to about $10,000 after all was said and done. Originally I didnt plan for it to get that big- but it did...and I had a great time! I would do it all over again if I had to- I thought it was worth it and we didnt lose any money. People couldnt believe what we did- and they all said that it was a mini wedding. Fh actually didnt want a party as large as this one- but I didnt want to leave anyone out! If one of our families had a big enough backyard for a BBQ- I might have done that though!

Alright girls...listen..the more talk of an e-party the more I want to have one!!

My grandpa's sick though so my mom (his daughter) really doesnt want to think an eparty now, and if we had one we would do it in my parents backyard.

Is 2009 too late?

I am going to have an e-party, but probably not until Spring of 2009.

I'm not going to have something on a grand scale, just our immediate family members (parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, & cousins) in a small private room at an italian restaurant (but no dj or anything like that).

No not at all. I think within one year of the wedding date is a rule of thumb.

When i started planning- believe me I didnt plan to spend that much...I didnt think we were going to have 120 people...and little things really add up fast!
