So I go to my co-worker's wedding mass today and I caused drama!....sorry this is long

Original post by GettinHutched

you know, the PE teacher at my school that I shared a shower with. Wow, she looked unbelievable. It was so fun to see her all dressed up when we normally see her in shorts and sweats!!

I wish I had pics but you'll understand soon why I don't have them. The ceremony was long- and it's a good thing it was. Right after they were pronounced husband and wife, they went into the longest communion rite I think I've ever seen. All of a sudden, I start feeling short of breath and faint. Luckily I was with friends. I literally sat there at the pew, with my head down, sweating profusely. My friend said I felt so hot- even my other friend behind me could feel how hot I was without touching me. It took me 15 minutes to feel like myself again, without feeling so dizzy. Right in time for the bride and groom to make their procession!

The other PE teacher who was behind me went to the bathroom to wet down a paper towel for me....and a complete stranger sitting in front of us ran to the gas station across the street to get water, gatorade and orange juice. He even held a bag open incase I had to puke!! I felt like the biggest idiot- so many people around us were turning around and looking cuz they knew something wasn't right as I had my head down and everyone was attending to me. I felt SO BAD.

I don't think the bride and groom knew as it was going on...thank goodness!! But we didn't go to the receiving line cuz my friends thought I shouldn't be standing for such a long time. So after I sat a while I went to the front of the church, and I saw the bride. She was happy to see us, and by then she knew. All I can say is, thank God I didn't throw up or really faint or need an ambulance. I would have felt AWFUL to do this to her on her day.

When I saw her she said 'You better not do this on your day!'

Guys, I really have no idea what was wrong with me. It so came out of nowhere. I felt fine all day- just exhausted because I woke up at 4:45 and couldn't go back to sleep. All I knew was, I started to feel short of breath and then really hot and faint...and it lasted for 15 minutes. I think I better head to the doctor tomorrow.

Just had to share in this ridiculousness! Does anyone have a clue what might be wrong with me? FH and my friend think it's anxiety and stress but I'm not like that! I was thinking such happy thoughts when it happened! Being at the wedding made me feel so excited, and it was all becoming so real! Go figure! But I literally do not sleep normally anymore...I wonder if that has to do with it.

Thanks for listening!

I think it is anxiety/lack of sleep. I agree with the ladies who noted that this occurred at a wedding...you have been going NON-STOP...concerts, work, baseball games, surprising FH with the announcement tape, counting RSVPs, taking care of details, Bachelorette party and probably working out regularly too with minimal sleep...maybe this was the moment it all caught up to you...I know my body has been talking to me lately...I didn't realize how tired I was and how stressful this past few months has been. Definitely go to the doctor and get some rest!!! Feel Better!

Guess what girl? You had an anxiety attack. I get them all the time. I hate that it's called an anxiety attack bc I get them out of the blue and when i'm not anxious. It's real fun. Yeah, so f**ing embarrassing. I had one so bad at my husbands house when we were dating. He said he thought I was having a siezure. I did vomit and everything else you can think of. And he asked me to marry him anyway

There are certain things that bring it on. Lack of sleep, alcohol, caffine, tobacco- just try to get some rest. It sounds pretty mild.

Sorry that happened to you.

Thanks Nicole....I really had no idea that anxiety attacks don't necessarily come from an immediate and negative trigger..does that make sense? I picture them like the ones Tony Soprano has. He always gets them when something negative triggers it. And me...both times with these weird little heart things, I was happy and excited.

It's just so odd...I've been through stressful situations before...last winter was the most stressful of my life coming up with my first concert...my last semester at grad school I was burning the candle on both ends...

I REALLY don't want to give into this fear of having it at my wedding. I appreciate the advice of taking a tranquilizer but...I just feel like I'm giving myself a condition that I'm not sure I have!! I'm so frustrated and confused right now! I'm desperate to believe this is not me and it was just a random experience! I just don't feel like I'm that anxious of a person...I mean geez, I used to perform on stage for a living...I'm used to being center of attention.

And no...I'm not preggo. Thank GOD!!!

You're all so amazing and sweet and supportive- THANK YOU!!!

sounds like the girls are right Tara...anxiety attack. plus throw in some no sleep and it's probably what you experienced. there's ALOT going on for you...your school year ending, the wedding coming up, plus you being at your friend's wedding probably subconciously triggered something inside you. mention all of the things that are going on in your life to your doctor and maybe he/she can figure out the best way to avoid this in the future. in the mean time, take it EASY and no LIW !

hahah! that's like another attack waiting to happen!

Glad to hear you're ok. Maybe you didn't eat enough and were just weak. Make sure you take a multi vitamin everyday.

I was going to ask the same thing....

If not, I agree that you might have had low blood sugar or a panic attack. Did you eat that morning?

Were you having your period? You may have been slightly dehydrated & anemic...happens to me all the time in subways, malls (poor air circulation)...which I can imagine could be like a church...esp if the church didn't have an ac system going. Lying down actually helps the most...more blood to your head. I've flat out blacked out twice. The way you felt could have many explanations.

I had definitely ate before I left...I might have been dehydrated, that's a possibility. I really don't want to believe it was a panic attack. I did just finish my period....

But get this! I had a doctor's appointment this morning- head to my car- A FLAT!!! What more can one person take?!?!?! This is the third flat I've had in a year with my NEW CAR!!!

And I was so lucky to get an appt so soon...and then I was gonna head to the gym and get back on my 'summer gym' routine with classes every day...ARGH!

It may have been anxiety. Was this the firrst real day that you had nothing stressing on you, such as last day of school things, concerts, etc. It may have been that youfinally had a calm day and your body was so used to so much more going on. Just take time to relax. Glad you are doing well now.
