So I know there are tons of DisneyWorld fans here (myself included), but has anyone gone to Universal Orlando lately?

Oh we would definitely hit the park right when it openend, shoot for Spidey first and then Hulk and then take our time from there
Look at me I'm planning my day at Islands already and I still have to book the trip
Thanks ladies for the helpful info!!
PS: Diva- if your FH thought the Aerosmith coaster was bad he would never step foot on ANYTHING at Cedar Point

I loved Islands. Its my favorite park of all time. But its completely different from Universal. Lots of rollercoasters and thrill rides. Last that I remember, it was about $50 for a one day pass.
I was there in October & I LOVED it!!! It is really a park for the thrill seekers...I don't know the price of the tickets bc we got it in a package deal....That was the last park we did & it was a GREAT way to close out the vacation

Oooh - Felicia - you also have to go on Dudley Do-Right's Rip Saw Falls. It's a log flume water ride that looks like a kiddie ride, but the drop at the end is great! Same thing with the Jurassic Park water ride.

Nah I'm sure you are fun -- just not ROLLER COASTER ride fun You are the guy who can hold everyone's stuff while they stand on line, that is a useful job at any amusement park

I REALLY want to go (maybe for part of our honeymoon), but the thing is we re annual passholders at Disney, so we feel like once we're down there it's already PAID for us to go to disney, so we feel like we're wasting days we paid for at disney in addition to paying more...maybe it's psychotic, but that's how it is. Plus I would probably stay on Disney property and rent a car to drive to universal...I'm such a disney nerd

Nah I totally understand when you have annual passes that you'd want to stick to Disney, besides there is TONS more to do at Disney overall.. but DH isn't really a huge Disney guy so I want to try to break up the vacation a bit
And we are definitely staying on Disney property and getting a car to go to Universal if this pans out.. the Universal hotels are just WAYYY too expensive and I'd rather be near Disney to do dinners and things like that

ooh..so I'm not the only one who's nuts
Plus at the AP rate, the disney hotels are REALLY reasonable.
I'm really getting sad we're not going...
But actually my mom said, with everything going on, basically we should say 'f--k it' and all go to disneyword together as a family this summer. (of course those weren't her words)
That would be SO much fun

Felicia is coming to my town!! If you are going to rent a car, you could also do sea world (cutsey) and bush gardens in Tampa (about a 1.5-2 hour drive) YEA! Come to FL! Let me know where you are going to get your Universal tickets from....I think Darren can get them for 10 or 15% off.

Aww you are the best Deb I think we're planning on coming down at the end of April, but the dates aren't set yet ..we just started talking about this last week (nothing like last minute planners we are )
I'll let you know the dates- I was looking up prices for Universal tix through the AAA site (I am a member) and they are discounted a bit, but want to figure out just how many days we're spending in each place before deciding anything..
Thanks again for your kind offer!!!

I was in Orlando last month and went to Universal but had free comp tickets.. Just wanted to say Im another HUGE fan of the spiderman ride. I honestly thought it was THE best ride I have ever been on. If you want a YUMMY meal, Emerils is right outside the enterence. BEst meal I think I ever ate. Have a wonderful time
wanted to add.. PAY 3 EXTRA DOLLARS for 'preferred parking' It saves you about 1 mile ( not exagerating) walking time.
