So someone called my hall to see if they knew my wedding was cancelled?

I'm really just in shock right now and only one person comes to mind who would do this....

FMIL.

Yes she doesn't know that we booked but I'm starting to think someone told her or she some how found out.

I got a call from my BM asking if my wedding was still on. Of course I am in shock and tell him it is and why is he asking. He says that someone called asking for a manager and when he called them back they asked him if our wedding was still on because they wee hearing we called it off. He of course said they have information for htem right now and the best course of action is for them to contact the couple.

He did give me the phone # that he called back but it's an unlisted number and I do not recognize it. It could be a number at his mother's job or a cell phone of her friends.... I don't know.

Well we verbally agreed on the phone that my wedding is not cancelled unless I come down there in person to do so myself. He's making a note in my folder that no changes are to be made except by me in person. Absurd!

I was litterally getting tears in my eyes. I don't think I should even tell FH cause this will only start trouble when I don't know for sure (although I'm almost certain it was FMIL).

And still with all this time before the wedding I can only wonder what else she will try to sabotage

I would call that number back blocked and find out who answers.. you could even pretend to be calling them back from the RH.. I would have them under lock and key .. Its sad that you have to do that.. I would hide any other vendors you have picked out.. for all you know they could be lurking on here watching everything that you are saying.. (I have my own FIL drama) and I wouldnt post it on here.. people are crazy.. sorry you have to deal with this...

I would so call and pretend i was from the hall then when u find out who it is i would bugg Sh*^ on them. I can't blieve that. I'm afraid that is going to happen with me. Im going to call today to put a note on my folder as well its a good idea

wow thats nuts, i would so tell fh, im soooo sorry u have to be going through this $hit. ur wedding is supposed to be the happiest day of ur life, and to be dealing with this is horriable. sorry hope everything works out.

that's some really sick sh!t that is pre meditated and thought out. Whoever it was needs their a$$ kicked. i'm sorry you're going through this, just make sure from now on to be very cafeful about who gets details about your wedding. I would even suggest putting up a fake wedding date.

How upsetting for you. People can be so cruel. I wouldn't keep this from FH. It might upset him if you witheld something like this from him. Plus, you shouldn't be going through this alone. Good luck with finding out who did this. Sounds to me like a very sad and jealous person.

I agree that you should tell FH. If she pulls something like this again and you have to bring him into it, he may be upset that you didn't tell him to begin with. He may also need to have a little sit down talk with her and tell her that if she pulls something like this again, there will be consequences. At least the hall (which I think is my hall too - YAY!) didn't buy into it.

Although this isn't exactly the same thing, my sister's MIL called up her hall to see how much my parents were paying for it and then had a fit when they wouldn't tell her! I'm sure that's why catering halls have those business practices because of crazy in-laws!

I kept calling the number but no one picks up.

I told FH what happened and before I even finished telling the whole thing he started going on about how I don't have to go on, he knows who did it.

I played dumb and asked who and he said 'You know... mother dearest'

He said he doesn't want me to pay for that report to verify it right now cause he doesn't REALLY want to know... but he said if something else happens to do it so we have proof and bring it to her and sit her down to tell her this wedding is happening whether she wants it to or not.

I agree with FH on this. We're going to pretend like this didn't happen around her... act like all is going well cause we know she did this to get to us.

But if something else happens or she does this again.... she's getting a major sit down.
