So we did it. We got married on TV. Planned the entire wedding in a week. At first I was hesitant about the entire experience, then I thought that this opportunity will relieve me of stress and eliminate the huge expense associated with the wedding. Like I mentioned before, we were planning a budget wedding on more than $40K. So now, we are able to purchase our house earlier than anticipated.
The wedding was planned in a week. Kleinfelds provided my gown and the bridesmaid's dresses; Sylvia Weinstock made our cake, the reception was held at West Side Loft in the city and Karren Bussen (www.karenbussen.com) decorated the reception and ceremony venues. It was a beautiful day that went by too quickly. I am sort of relieved that it is over. I began to think that brides (like me) spend an enormous amount of time, planning for this BIG day that only last a few hours and in the process rarely get a moment to think about the rest of their lives after the day. We spent 1 week planning this wedding and can now spend the rest of our lives focusing on our future. It was not the wedding I completely envisioned but it was a dream wedding nonetheless. And most importantly, we did not spend a dime!
chk out the show airing this week on Life & Styles and here are some pics

Congrats!!!!! Now you can get on with your marriage instead of wedding planning through the summer and fall.
We started talking about this yesterday, spending $25K or more on a wedding that will only last about 5 - 6 hours (not including rings and a honeymoon). This is just one more example that makes me want to elope.
I'd love to see your day. What channel is that and do you know the date/time?
Did they send you on a honeymoon too????

My bestfriend is a producer on the show but she did not produced this segment. They wanted 3 couples and 1 of the couples cancelled at the last minute and the producer ask her if she knows anyone planning a wedding and she approached me with the idea. And I agreed.
I already put a 33% downpayment on the hall. I will get some of it back but not all. The hall was only a portion of the total cost and I was saving 4X as much as I was losing, so I figured I can walk away from that cost without regret.
At that time, I just started the dress search but did not purchase anything. The gown I wore was custom designed by the designer himself and it was sewn within 1 week.
I feel so blessed to have this opportunity because all the things I would have STRUGGLED to happily pay for, were given away as if it had absolutely no value. (My gown cost more than $6K ) However, everyone was great to work with and was eager to make my day special.

I think it airs on channel 55 @ 9am; it also airs on channel 11 @ 3 am
They are sending us to Hawaii for the honeymoon, we probably will go towarrds the end of the year, hopefully by then we will be setlled into our new house.
If not for the graciousness of my parent, I would have eloped. I could not have afforded the wedding we were planning on my own.

Your pictures turned out beautifully, and it looks like everyone had a wonderful time. If you hadn't told us, I definitely doubt anyone would suspect you put everything together in a week! Beautiful evening--glad you and your fiancee are pleased with the outcome. Congratulations!
