So when it's all said and done. What are you planning to do with your WEDDING DRESS??

We may have cried over it. Loved it. Hated it. Bought one of it, only to buy another one. But Ladies, what are you planning to do with your WEDDING GOWN/DRESS after your wedding? I don't think I''m gonna save it because if I ever do have a daughter she probably would not want to wear it (or it may not fit her).

I was thinking of having it turned into a quilt or maybe a christening gown for future children? The quilt idea is foremost on my mind though.

The dying it black is a shout out to kdrainey

So what are you gonna do?

Mine is preserved & boxed already. Hopefully one day I'll make a christening outfit out of it for my children or a bassinet skirt ...

Hmmm..an interesting question, I guess I will preserve it until I can come up with something creative-I like the quilt idea!

I was actually thinking of getting it cleaned, etc. and then having a big party one year for all my married friends and having all the couples dress all up in their bridal dress. No one says you need to wear it just once.

This is a still a debate in my mind. I have no idea what I will end up doing with it.

I paid a LOT for my gown, so I don't think I would be able to do something out of it. On the other hand, it is a two piece gown, with the top made out of crystal. Perhaps I could wear the top again, with a different skirt, to a something fancy. I am not sure.
My parents tell me to just sell it, but, I would probably get a fraction of the cost if I went on ebay!

I have no idea. I might want to make it into something for one of my future children.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet-my cousin made hers into a christinening dress for her daughter-I like that idea but I also like the idea of saving it for my daughter to wear someday if she wanted to-I guess I still have time to figure it out.

Most likely, I'll have it preserved and boxed.

My mom's wedding dress was (and probably still is) in our attic. I can't tell you how many times my sister and I would put on the veil, or try to put on the dress and pretend we were princesses. . . My mom said that it was worth keeping the dress just to see her daughters playing with it years later.

I have no idea! I like the the quilt idea, but it would be a VERY plain quilt. My dress has no embellishment except for 3 small rows of rhinestones around the middle.

I have decided to have my dress turned into the chrisening gowns for our future children (plenty of material). I can't see leaving it in a box to never be seen again. Plus, I can now have something very meaningful to us for my kids to use with their children if the so choose to.

I thought that I would have it preserved. That is what my mom did, but now I can't even fit into it. So was that a waste? I do know that she is going to cut a small square out of it and I am having it sewn into the hem of my dress. I figure if my daughter does not want to wear it, I will at least have that section (with my mom's dress) cut out and put in the hem of her dress!!! That much I know.

I don't know. My mom saved here dress but it wasn't preserved. I'm taking off the embellishments (lace patches that were on the skirt) and placing them on my veil. They match my dress.
