SO...i will have 'teeth' as of friday!

So as many of you know i am having work done on my teeth...i am getting worried tho. I can not afford implants and my teeth are very badly damaged. I have soft enamel that ruined them as well as not having enough room in my mouth for all my teeth so they are all broken.....well i am getting a denture put in. its my only resort. Maybe down the line one day i can get implants. I am a little sad being 26 and needing a denture , i am trying to look on the bright side...i wont be embarassed to smile anymore. I am trying really hard but it is tough. I keep reminding myself ' this is irreversable once its done' i know its gonna look 100000 times better than it does now but i am still a little worried.......so i guess i am happy and scared at the same time. I will hopefully post pics of my swoolen but smiling face over the weekend.

Its tuff but you will love the result.

I am doing the veneers on two teeth and getting the final ones done in Nov. i cant wait. its been a lot of work but cant wait for the result!!

I know how expensive implants are. I need one in the back of my mouth, and I am putting it off until after the wedding.

I'm so happy for you, and, I can't wait to see your pics!!!

BTW - I got my estimate for my implant here in PA, and it's $4k, for 1 tooth. I really think that's high. Would you mind sharing your estimate with me (if you have one) -- you can FM me if you like!

that is great!!! DOn't be scared. I am getting clear braces in a few days and I cna't wait!!! Cause I know that once it's all done i will have such nice teeth. I mean there not bad now but i do have an overbite and he wants to fix that before the wedding. SO he said he can definetly do it!! I am excited!!!

i have clear braces now. im 29 and wearing them so embarrassing , but i know when im done it will be 100 times better.

I know I am 26 and didn't really want them but i wanted to correct 1 tooth and he was liek oh we can do this and this and now i am getting braces. he said invisaline is good but i couldn't get it to correct my overbite.

I couldnt do invisiline either. Thank god they will be off way before my wedding. I'd fire the photographer

Aww! I know it's not your ideal situation and that at your age, you would rather not have dentures BUT look at the bright side- you are getting the smile you want. You won't have to feel embarressed anymore. Please let us know how it goes. I'm glad it all worked out for you!

yeah- i dont think any do. My mom works for a dentist and said that they dont but it could be just the ones they carry.

They run from $3000 - $3500 depending on wether or not u need bone graphing (if the bone isnt sturdy or if thre is a crack)

Try getting an estimate from another dentist. It seems at least $500 higher, but idk why it would be more in PA. They wanted $3000 at the dentist I went to in Pa (it was actually Phillipsburg, NJ though)

I paid lab fees only and it was still $700 its crazy!

And, I don't need bone graphing, I am wearing a retainer at night which will prevent that. I will definitely get another estimate, thanks!

That was my problem...docs said 20-30K to do my whole mouth! no way!! thats more than my wedding!!! lol

My insurance covered alot of my denture. i ended up paying almost $400 out of pocket for it so that wasnt too bad....but my dantal insurance only allows $1000 per calender year so when i go to the sergun on friday it will all be out of pocket for the anestesia and extractions. Gonna be like 1500-2000 but still better than 20K lol

Awww i hear you but just think you will have a great smile and you will feel so much better about yourself and no one but you and your family needs to know they are dentures!!!
