Something borrowed dilemma

Something borrowed dilemma

The BM's wife, last month, offered to let me borrow her wedding veil. Now they are getting a divorce.
I think, now I should decline her offer because I don't want the BM to feel sad that day. It's going to be a hard day for him anyways, but to make it worse and see me with his ex's veil on....
So, what would you do?

I wouldn't borrow it either.

Technically, you are supposed to 'borrow' something from a happily married person, so you get their same luck.

I wouldn't. Maybe you can just say you found a veil you loved and couldn't get it out of your head.

Thanks guys, both FH and I thought the same thing.
Such a sad situation.
We're celebrating our love and theirs fell apart, right in front of us and we didn't even see it!
