Soooo Annoyed with FH right now!

So I went shopping with my mom.

I asked FH to join us in furniture shopping after work.

He said no, he didn't want to knowing full and well we were going to look for bedroom furniture.

My mom and I found something we LOVE. Gorgeous Italian Furniture... a beautiful bedroom set that her and my father have offered to buy us.

I know he hasn't seen the furniture yet but he's already complaininge!
What a rude, selfish brat! He thinks it may be too modern for his tast or he may not like the fact that it doesn't have a footboard bla bla bla!

I plan on taking him to see it tomorrow but, i feel like he won't give it a chance because now he's just UGHHHHHH!

I am sooo angry with him and so upset with him bc instead of being relieved and happy that not only do we not have to go into debt buying furniture, we get a gorgeous bedroom we would have never been able to afford.
I am sooooooo mad at him I could cry!

oh boy.....tell him he only has an oppinion if he goes with you! you can't read his mind all the time....don't let him get to you i'm sure once he sees it he'll like it

He is soooo dramatic- 'oh my god, i'm going to have to sleep on that for the rest of my life'

I understand that- he should have a say but- who would complain about a gorgeous bedroom set that we would be FORTUNATE to have.

How would I say to my parents- No thank you, FH only likes beds with a small footboard?

To me he is ungrateful and mean. It's a really nice piece- they even want to get us an armoire. I think that beats sleeping on a mattress which is probably what would happen for a few months since with buying a house and other expenses- it gets to be a lot of spending and we wouldn't be able to afford anything this beautiful for a LONG time!

go to the furniture store and point out a similar piece. let him hate it. then go walk down the aisles with him..and let him see you FALL IN LOVE with the piece that you really want. LOL. then he can be part of the process and think that its his idea too

lol good idea- why do we have to trick them to do stuff we want?

awww i can see both sides, so maybe if you two talk about it you can resolve the issue

I do understand your side bc he should've come with you, this is for him and should've been part of the process. I would've told DH, ok if you cant come today we'll reschedule, what day can you come. BC I KNOW DH and even if he says he doesnt care about something, after when a decision is made he all of a sudden cares and will complain and give his opinion lol. Ive learned the hard way and thats why when it comes to these things i always tell him 'OH NO YOU ARE COMING bc i dont want to hear your mouth after' lol

I also understand his side a bit, although still think he should've gone. BUt even if somebody did buy something for us, if i didnt like it, i dont want it. I understand its money saved but something as big as br furniture i wouldnt want to have to look at everyday and not like it. Everybody does have different taste, like my dad has this br set that ALOT of ppl do love but for me its just way too much and not my style. I like the more modern clean lines, dark wood and all that, his looks like an italian palace lol. And even if i would be offered that furniture set for free, i would say no. I would hate that i can get something for free and not go with it but what can you do.

Just sit with him and ask what he likes, and ask what he doesnt like about the furniture, maybe its something as simple as the color of the wood and maybe the store has the option of getting same set but in a different color or being able to change something about it, or adding a footboard

Ughhh...sooo frustrating!!! MEN!!!! I would tell him that if he wants a say he has to come next time!!!!

Thanks for all the advice- We just went to the furniture store during our lunch break and he loved it. I mean, there isn't anything to not like.

My mom has exceptional taste- it's a modern wood laquer set. Clean lines and really a combination between classic and modern. Very Maurice Villency.

Thank goodness he liked it- I would have really flipped on him...I would understand if it was not our style and looked old fashioned but, it doesn't.
We are lucky and should be appreciative of that.

How would he have said- Thanks but no thanks for the bedroom set- it doesn't have a footboard and I like a footboard.

I almost had a heartattack all day long- I was sooo mad and would have really flipped if he didn't like it...
