I knew this was going to happen and I hate it. Just got my first text, 'Are kids allowed at the reception?'
I hate telling people no. I feel bad, but we just can't afford it.

See with me kids are ok esp since we want his nephew there that's 5 but def no babies I have lots of babies in family now and FSIL is having a baby in may and we already told her we don't want babies so she is gonna need a babysitter. Even if that is mean
FSIL is due in March, and FH is supposed to talk to her. I want NO BABIES

Re: Sorry NO kids at the reception
We're not doing any children at the wedding ... only the 4 that are in the bridal party. People have ALREADY asked, but unfortunately no acceptions. Its a Saturday night event and money aside, its just not that type of affair.
What did you say???

Re: Sorry NO kids at the reception
Can we put 'Adult Only Reception'? is that acceptable? I have definitely seen that on one of my girlfriends wedding invitation but i dont know if it is proper...
Im def not doing kids... too expensive for us! and people will understand.... and to be honest, my FH and I are making to many sacrifices to have this big day. so just remember the brown bag lunches, how broke your wallet is singing to you today... and then you wont feel bad at all.. I know I dont because at the end of the day and during this wedding planning, its just me and FH doing this on our own... so I agree with the other posters - NO KIDS!

Re: Sorry NO kids at the reception
somewhere on my invite i will be writing adult reception and will also be writing people how many seats have been reserved for them....why should i have to pay extra to have someone run around and scream......get a babysitter and if you sent a save the date they have notice far in advance!

Re: Sorry NO kids at the reception
my SIL is having a baby in april and there's no way i'd tell her she can't bring her baby. this is my niece we're talking about. she'll be a tiny baby, and i rather have her there than not. my brother and his wife will probably organize it so a babysitter is there to take care of the baby and they'll be able to the party. the baby really won't bother me. there's plenty of room for the 250 people i'm inviting. 1 more teeny tiny person isn't going to hurt.
