Posted by Sassyz75 for some reason, when I think about it I get very ill in my stomach.
thats what happened to me...
I even remember with Karla Faye Tucker in Texas - how I just felt awful...
**as I feel awful when I hear of a murder**

have you seen the Life of David Gale? We just watched it this weekend - it got bad reviews, but we enjoyed it. And it was definitely thought provoking on the death penalty topic.

In this case, I think he should be put to sleep and taken out of his misery.
When they put Timmothy McVey to sleep, I went a lit a candle at church for him that morning, my friends thought I was sick. But I felt bad for him a young stupid kid destroyed the life of innocent people as well as his own for no reason

is it a documentary?

Also- i get very sick seeing the paper this morning with a dead soldier in the middle of an Iraqi street. I feel bad for his family having their son dishonored in this way... I think it's disrespectful to plaster it all over the paper like that.

I guess I will be the first to say I am all for the dealth penalty. I think it should be in extreme cases.
I am sorry but running around Washington DC and surrounding areas and killing people just for the hell of it, including shooting at a kid just b/c the chief said 'thank god he is not shooting kids), please. This in an extreme case.

what will serving the death penalty in this case accomplish? will it decrease crime? no. will it bring the victims back? no.
I just don't think you can execute people to make people 'feel' better.
I'm not a religious person- but God would be PISSED.

Re: spinning off Muhammad trial - death penalty
its not a documentary, but its about a convicted criminal (David Gale - Kevin Spacey) sentenced to the death penatly for something he claims he didn't do.
He's got 3 days before the execution, and he's telling his story to a reporter.
Don't want to give too much away, but Gale (before convicted) was an HUGE anti-death penalty activist and there are a number of speeches and debates throughout the movie on the topic.

I think that people that can not live in society like humans should not be able to live here. Running around Washington shooting people that you have never met is disquesting, and he should be removed from society, and not able to sit in a jail, I think they should give him the death penalty.

im for the death penalty in this case.. he's sick and dangerous. it may not drastically decrease crime, but it may just show someone else out there what might happen if they were to do the same thing he did.

Let's hope that it will make other killers think twice about it, knowing what the consequences of that crime will be. I honestly feel the sentences given out are all too lenient, from drug sales to murder, we are too easy on our criminals.

in this case i thinks it's justified. what he did was awful and affected a lot more people than just the shooting victims and their families.
someone asked what's the point of killing him? i ask what's the point of letting him sit in prison for the rest of his life? i mean why should we have to take care of him and feed him etc. when he clearly, imo, does not deserve these things.

I personally think as human beings we have to have compassion for our friends as well as our enemies.
Me Personally- killing him is the same as him killing the victims. No human has the right to play god.. and I don't think executing him will do a thing for anyone... victims, crime, etc.

I disagree. This man killed many people and TERRORIZED multiple communities for weeks! This is NOT acceptable behavior in our country and letting him rot in prison for the rest of his life would only cost the honest, law-abiding taxpayers of this country more money in the long run. I say good riddance to bad rubbish!
I do not think they are excuting him to make anyone 'feel' better! Unless you can bring back those dead, innocent victims, no one feels better! In this case, the punishment fits the crime for sure. JMO.

Claud I agree with you 100%.
I also feel this way for child molestors and rapists.
His MO was to put fear into large groups of people, this is not acceptable behavior, and they should not be given the courtsey of us caring about his life.

I am in agreeance with Sassy. The death penalty does not bring back the victims nor does it teach other would-be-criminals to abstain. The death penalty has been around for a long time and we still have horrific crimes.

Personally if they use the death penalty more often, maybe people would realize that pleading insanity does them no good.

Re: spinning off Muhammad trial - death penalty
I would never commit a crime, since i would not want to go to jail or be sentenced to death, if people don't care about going to jail or about being killed, then there is something wrong with them.
