Re: spinoff to ? about %
Ok.......keep in mind, I have a two-family with my mom, so we were able to do MUCH more than we would've had it just been FH and I.
We put 1/2 down.
Our mortgage is about $1300 per month for a 30 year mortgage.
ETA: That does NOT include taxes, lol

Re: spinoff to ? about %
we're about to close on a condo for 275k
dp was what we got back from the wedding - 20k (which comes out to like 7% of the purchase price)
factoring in monthly maintainence fees, taxes, and our mortgage insurance premium (something extra you pay every month for not having at least 20% down)-- we're paying about 2200 a month... and dont forget about adding utilities into that price

Considering I live in Texas and what we have been looking at.... You do not want to know the prices, lol. This is the reason we moved!

Re: spinoff to ? about %
just remember to do your research and really shop around....houses in CT are cheaper but in my town the average is still around $375k...we house hunted for no joke almost a year! when the house we own went on the market, we went to look and put in an offer b/c the price was just amazing, it was the daughter of the deceased parents who lived out of state and needed to sell quick, so we got an amazing deal but we did shop around alot and had to wait for something to come along.

Our house was $460k. We put 10% down ($46k) and then paid out another $19k in closing costs. Our taxes are just under $10k every year and our mortgage rate was like 5.125%. Our payments every month are aboouuuuut $3400 including taxes and homeowners.

Re: spinoff to ? about %
All on my own so this was hard.
I put 30% down.
My monthly with maintenance is about 1200.
this is by myself though...
I want to flip it and buy a one bedroom and hopefully have combined no more than 1600-800..but that will be split with FH..I may end up paying more...because he has car and will need to pay parking fees...

LOL... trust me it makes me sick too... I'm by no means the 'bread winner' so I think FH might ACTUALLY vomit every month when he gets the mortgage in the mail.
