In college:

The Pinewood, The Terminal (Broadway and 242nd St in the Bronx)

Characters (off of Broadway)

The Grasshopper (Broadway in Yonkers)

The Leprechaun (near Manhattan College - it closed in 1990 and was turned into a card store..so sad when I found out)

French Charlies a few times (Fordham bar) and the Roaring 20's a few times

Another bar on Broadway (Sam McGuires I think) and sometimes the Riverdale Steakhouse

And a few others on Broadway in Riverdale which are now closed or renamed and I can't think of the names from when I went there.

Wow - what memories in this post....

In hs - I didn't drink but I did go into a few of the bars up on Queens Blvd in Woodside.

In college, I went away to college and became a lush went mostly to all our local college bars but when I came home for breaks I went to the bars on Bell, in Rockaway and by St. Johns and a couple in Forest Hills (austin's). So yep - the Bridge and JPods and the other one with the basketball name...were staples. And I can't remember the one one Bell we lived at as well....it was really small and it was a St. John's hangout as well.... Later years in college - I mostly went out in the city to the Tavern and Ski Bar and places like that. Oh my drunken memories or hazy memories...

This was more of a college thing, but the East Village was my stomping grounds: Sophie's (best jukebox in NYC), Ace Bar, King Tut's (later known as Wally's, now known as Niagara), 7B/Horseshoe/Vazac's (TOTAL meat market), Doc Holliday's (SUPER sleazy -- $1 PBRs), 2A, Max Fish, Lucy's...

I think my first bar was TJ Redmans on Union Tpke, but after that it was Bell Blvd - anyone remember T-Birds? Crazy Moose when it was still Randle McMurphys, BB Juniors, I guess really anyplace on Bell - LOL

As for the city we used to go to Down the Hatch, Ryan McFaddens, Ski Bar

I went to the Bridge and Hickeys mostly
since I am from that area!

College, I went to school upstate so all the bars there and on breaks back to the rockaway bars mostly.

I cant believe other people went to Breffini's and Sally O'Brian's!!! That was my life every week on Thursdays and Saturdays!

There was a few on Bell Blvd I went to and the ones by St Johns.

We only go up there now for the restaurants (Uncle Jacks, Patio,etc) and it's so different from when we used to hang out there.

Pick a bar in rockville centre and I was there, some place that I can't even now remember the town or the bar name (how sad is that, I do remember being there every wed. though)
a place called the band box in bellmore, the lucky irishman, razzles, most bars on Fire Island (my name made it into the Fire Island Times police section a few times) and I think that is it.

We used to go to Sprats on Merrick Avenue all the time. You could be 18 to get in but once you were in there they never checked for the bracelet. God, I forgot about that!!

Oh yeah, and Rockwell's in Rockville Center too. There was another one too in RVC - down the block from Croxley's but I can't remember the name of it.

i remember t birds i would have to use my sisters friends id and i didnt look anything like her lol and they would let me in. the bartenders would get on the bar and sing and dance to ymca lol.
