I know many of us are on a budget...
I'm definitely content with my wedding as is...but if I had more money to spend on my wedding, would I.....?

if i had extra money to spend, i would do it a different time of year, i would have more flowers, and probably spend a little more on the photographer (uprgraded albums, etc).

YES- I know my wedding will be great and I really didnt go without anything I realy wanted, but some frivilous things would be...
I would probably spend more on more flowers fancy cake (like Collete Peters) add to CH- seafood boat TK jewelry and hairstuff lighting and video montage w/ DJ (still prefer DJ over band) hire AG for photography really nice favors (mine are just ok) swarovski toasting flutes pay someone to do my menus and programs (mine are really nice, but it took a lot of time) .......i could go on and on
just a lot of extras that i can and will be fine with doing without

the only thing we would have spent more $$ on if we had it:
DH's ring - he got white gold, but really wanted platinum (he wasn't getting it when it was 4x the amt of the white gold - his decision).
honeymoon - would have went someplace else, but we would also have needed more vacation days too, but if $$ is not an object, what's a couple of unpaid vacation days really?
that's really it. i was very happy with everything else, and anything i may have changed, would not affect our overall cost of the wedding.

i would have added slipper baskets - that was more of a time issue then a money issue - i decided too late.
i would have added a week to my HM

i'd put any extra money or anything towards a house, a future for our children....a new car, etc... something that's necessary...

just wanted to add something. I wouldn't change things i already have, infact even with unlimited money i'd still use same photographer, videographer, hair and make up person, and so on. Also i know some ppl think that those of us who get a dj only do so bc we cant afford a band but not true for all. I didnt want a band, if i wanted one then i wouldve hired one, dj is what i wanted and what i would have no matter what. So not that i wouldnt keep what i have or not keep the vendors, just would add other things. For example a huge place that is an empty palette that i can do whatever with, a separate room just for a lounge with all lounge furniture. I would pay for bm dresses, transportation for everybody, pay for gm tuxes and things like that and probably spend alot on favors.
So just bc you would spend more, doesnt mean you dont like what youre doing bc id keep my things as is, but spend on other things

oh yeah great point denise - i would have paid for everyone's involvement in the wedding - dresses/hair/makeup/transportation etc.

Well.
I would get a seafood boat, definitely. That's only $2250 more ... but it's $2250 I do not have. So, no seafood boat. I really, really want that.
I would get two photographers. (I have one currently, actually considering asking what it would cost to add another just to have more proofs even though I am not sure I need one.)
I would hire the FULL BAND version of my band. I am now having 6 of the 9 pcs.
I would hire music to play at the ceremony - like a string quartet or a steel drum, or something.
I would have had an evening wedding. Again, I know my room will look FAB in the daylight .. but whenever I picture me at my wedding, it's night. And FH really wanted a night affair.
But I think that's all I'd get. MAYBE flower centerpieces instead of my DIY candle ones, but I think the DIY ones will add character and a bit of ME to the tables, so I am not so sure I want to get rid of them.

I would spend more money on the lighting. but other than that everything is perfect.

YES!!! I would spend a TON on decor...linens, flowers, chair covers...all that good stuff.

I don't think so...if someone gave me more money I would put it towards something else. I am very happy with my choices for my wedding. I agree with Espo about the DJ too...I hate bands. I have so much more fun at weddings with DJ's then bands...so no matter what I would do DJ...I have simple tastes, so so far i have been able to stay pretty much with in my buget.

its a no brainer for me, id spend it if i had it. id stop all this DIY crap i've been doing to save money. I'm horrible at it and I'd just pay to get it done if i could. i would also have gotten a band and instead of taking a cruise to Alaska on my honeymoon, I'd be free and stay all over the state.
