Spinoff to my 'embarrassed' post...
So this got me thinking that we all have complexes about ourselves that we obsess about when the rest of the world tells us we're crazy for even thinking it! Since we are a bunch of awesome and fabulous ladies, I thought it might be nice if we could all share our complexes with each other and in response we can counter it with positive reinforcement! :) Sometimes just hearing it from a different source helps (friends and family get shooed off bc we assume they're biased!) Plus, it's always a treat to hear someone say something nice about you - I think this doesn't happen enough as it is, so lets go for it!
So, I think we all know mine already
and I'd like to thank you all again for your lovely compliments in response to that!Anyone else for some verbal hugs?

Re: Spinoff to my 'embarrassed' post...
I have always been self conscious about my butt and my nose. I hate my side profile. Plus I am only 5'2' and at 27 years old, I think I have heard enough 'short' jokes to last the rest of my life.

Re: Spinoff to my 'embarrassed' post...
Your post reminded me of my complex and how it gets pointed out by strangers ALL THE TIME!! I absolutely abhor the color of my skin. I am so disgustingly white and if could change any one thing about me, this is what it would be.Well, every single time I'm in the sun, especially at the beach, people constantly feel the need to come up to me and ask me if I have sunscreen on because 'you know, you'll burn!'. Um, thanks, I do happen to know that since I've lived with my own body for 26 freaking years. It is the most frustrating, embarrassing thing in the entire world.

I feel funny about my butt it is big for a white female. Also, even though I use this to my advantage alot. I look about 24 even though I am in my mid 30s. But it is also bad

Re: Spinoff to my 'embarrassed' post...
i am SO self conscious about my nose. i actually had 2 consultations w/ a plastic surgeon about 5 years ago to get a nose job. i backed out because i was petrified of the procedure and dreaded the recovery.anyway, i was out w/ some friends a few months ago and got into a verbal argument w/ some guy. among his babble he says, 'shut the h*ll up you big nosed b**ch.' i was so flabbergasted that i didn't even know how to respond. luckily my friend was there and had a few choice words for him.
i was SO hurt. the worst part about it was that he was drunk but yet had enough sense to notice my nose.

I've got a bunch. Here are what I deem to be the more obvious ones. One, I have rosacea - my nose and cheeks get really red, like I sat in the sun with sunglasses on. People comment on it all the time, some really rudely too, it always knocks my self esteem down about 10 notches.
Two, the size and shape of my nose. It's just weird.
Three, my hair. It's just a mess no matter what the weather.

I'm a butt/nose girl myself! I wish I had the guts to get a nose job - I really think it would change so much for me, but I am too scared. (Plus I landed a hot husband - so maybe it's not THAT bad!)

I am in denial about this one ... but it's actually a toss up between whether it's rosacea or HOT FLASHES!!

Mine is my legs! I never ever wear shorts or short skirts. When I was younger my Mom bought me a knee length skirt. And a girl I went to school with made fun of me for wearing it. I still get upset over it.I have legs that look like tree trunks. Even when I was very thin they still looked like tree trunks.
I would love to have a pair of long shapely legs.

Re: Spinoff to my 'embarrassed' post...
Okay everyone - first of all, you are all gorgeous!!!!! I feel like this board has the most attractive people on it!
Even for those who don't have pics posted - I can come on this board at any time and always feel like I'm talking to the wittiest, intelliegent and fun people! I'm a big believer in personality dicating looks, and to me - when a person is fun to be with and is an overall good person, I think that person is more beautiful than some coked-out supermodel anyday
I think you ladies are some of the warmest, most supportive, and funniest people I've ever had the pleasure of chatting with - and I mean that!! Just rememebr that your insecurities are just that - YOURS. I'm pretty convinced that we all live with these little demon voices in our heads whispering bad things about us. It's easier to let yourself believe that you're too fat, tall, pale, short, etc. than it is to focus on your positive and endearing features - THAT'S what everyone else sees :)

HUGS for all of you bc you're ALL AWESOME WOMEN, even if you can't see it for yourselves sometimes!! My happy soapbox rant is now finished

Re: Spinoff to my 'embarrassed' post...
I HATE my thighs!! I avoid wearing shorts at all costs - thank goodness for capris. i would rather wear jeans and sweat than put on shorts most of the time. Even though I'm relatively slender, my thighs have always been the jiggly kind that get even bigger when I sit down.

And it's always strangers who point it out or FHs obnoxious aunt who insists she can't tell me apart from his 13 year old sister. Apparently the beer-swilling, chain-smoking and 12 year age difference aren't enough of a tip off.
A$$hat.
This paragraph almost makes up for the lack of Slider stories ...

Re: Spinoff to my 'embarrassed' post...
I have a J. Lo butt.I have ears that stick out like jug handles.
My smile shows way too much of my gums (I used to get called Molly Ringwald)
And my middle toe on my right foot is insanely long!!
I find as I get older I don't care as much and have started to break out a little, but when I was younger I would NEVER wear my hair back and I wouldn't smile in pictures and I never wore sandles or open toed shoes. I'm progressing though.

We should talk - my legs are the same. I could NEVER wear any type of skirt or shorts. I dont know what I am going to do on my honeymoon!
Even when I was thin, my legs were tree-trunks too!
